Seaport Social — Restaurant in Boston

Decided to take a table outside after our first choice had an excruciatingly long wait. This one we were able to sit right away on a Friday night so that should have been my first red flag. The menu was boring. Other than lobster bisque and clam chowder this could have been an Applebee's. Our table of 4 ended up getting the soups, a tuna poke, a burger and the grilled fish with rice. Honestly everything was mediocre or worse. The soups were sodium bombs. The tuna poke has some strange base layer that was bland but the tuna was decent. The grilled fish was also bland and just had some mustard thrown on top as a "sauce" with the accompanying rice tasting like a cardboard box. If just the food was bad but the service was decent I would be more forgiving but we had to go chase down our waiter twice. We sat for 30 minutes with no drink order taken. Chased someone down. Ordered food with the appetizers coming out after about 20 so not bad but the main course I think the waiter must have forgotten to fire because our empty plates sat on the table forever before he came out and realized we still didn't have our food. We were greeted by a very rude server who could not be bothered to greet us with a smile ir welcome. Although we had booked she made us wait in the lobby for 12 minutes whilst we could see many empty tables. We then ordered starters and mains, starters came out deep fried shrimp was soggy, 2 minutes after the starters arrived our mains were served whilst we were still eating our starters! Then in horror there was a long hair in my chicken salad. It was awlful we sent all the food back paid for our drinks and refused to pay for the meal. The miserable receptionist did not apologise she needs to attend a customer service school. On a good not our waitress was lovely and in difficult circumstances maintained proffessionalism and was very apologetic. Never will we return to...

My wife and I stopped in to get an early dinner before a concert. It was about 430 when we got there and were seated right away. We were seated right near the bathroom which wouldn't have been a problem but I think we were forgotten about. It was about 20 mins before someone even acknowledged us. A server came over and asked if we had been helped and ended up helping us. She ended up being a great server and it just seemed like miscommunication. The food was great though, my wife loved her burger and I got the short rib grilled cheese and chowder. I would definitely go back and it was very affordable, especially being around a pricier...
