THE RUDEST MANAGER IN THE WORLD…EVER!! My wife and i were visiting from out of town and were looking forward to a Greek meal this evening and walked into Servia just after 5pm when it was quiet. In fact, there was only one client in the dining room. As we walked in, a man who was at the host booth looked up and saw us and then immediately turned away and went to sit at a table where a young woman was seated. He continued In a conversation with the woman who appeared to be in the midst of a job interview. I could overhear much of the discussion, so i found it extremely unprofessional that anyone would conduct a job interview in the dining area of a restaurant right next to where customers come in. With his back to us, he continued the interview. The interviewee was attentive and responsible enough to notice that we were standing at the door waiting and asked the man to greet us, yet he did not even turn around and said to the woman “the hostess will take care of them”. We could hear voices in the back kitchen but there was no hostess in sight and he made no effort to call anyone out. After waiting for nearly 5 minutes with no one even acknowledging our presence, i interrupted the interview and asked the man if he was the manager, and he responded “yes”. At that moment, i turned to the interviewee and asked her if she was seeking a job, to which she confirmed. I applauded her efforts to advise the “manager” that clients are waiting as i told her that is a very important trait in a restaurant greeter to greet clients promptly when they arrive. The manager appeared to turn away to ignore me but the decided to comeback to me with an offensive rather than an apology. Giving me the excuse that he was in the middle of an interview, i told him it doesn’t matter what you are in the middle of, you always greet the customer first and take care of them first before anything else. CUSTOMER SERVICE ALWAYS COMES FIRST BEFORE ALL ELSE!! He proceeded to kick me out of the restaurant, not that i was planning on staying anyway, and even threatened to call the Police, which was an empty threat. In his words, he told me to “get out of my building”! I asked for the owner and he told me that he “calls the shots” there. I advised the interviewee to be cautious in embarking on a working position with such an unprofessional “manager”. I cannot comment on anything else about this restaurant as i walked out. As a business owner, i caution the owner of Servia for retaining such an employee. Perhaps this manager should be working at a fast food restaurant at...
Read moreThe food is wildly delicious. Claudio is a fantastic and talented chef. He has a talented yet closed minded staff. Jordan, the assistant manager, puts up with blatant bigotry from patrizia, the general manager. I used to work for this company, and was told to refuse late night reservations for a party if they came in with names like “Patel”. The GM is an Italian immigrant and a women so it was especially disappointing to have these particular instances happen, as I had previously thought a female manager would make a work place environment more healthy. As I said, food is wildly delicious, you have a classic Italian chef giving authentic meals at Boston’s typical “ $$$ “ price point. That being said, you can find delicious and authentic meals at establishments that don’t show blatant racism to any demographic, let alone one that happens to be their most consistent customer demographic. I forgot to add that despite his talent Claudio once yelled in front of a guest with an allergy that he couldn’t serve a guest with a nut allergy a dish that should have been allergy safe bc the guest could be lying about only having a specific allergy, and then he later added it didn’t matter if the guest should be able to eat something as listed on menu bc sometimes he switches the nut he uses! As a person with a severe nut allergy that made me very uncomfortable as a staff member bc I never knew if I was allergen safe or not after that. You can go to so many places in boston for better food...
Read moreOne of the most outstanding middle eastern establishments I have ever dined at in my life. Visited this establishment with good friends of mine on 8/20/21, my first night in the city of Boston. We were warmly welcome by this beautiful elegant woman who I sensed was the owner, such a beautiful energy she had, then we were welcomed by Joseph our server, such a lovely guy, so professional and attentive and absolutely loves interacting with the customers as I know he loves his job. We started off with drinks and mezze, I tried the Mediterranean Mule, it was so refreshing, my friend and his partner had scene overheard and a glass of white wine. Then to the food which was all outstanding, the mezze, Mediterranean Sampler which consists of different delicious dips w/ two kinds of homemade breads, it was so remarkable! Then came the various different small plates of absolutely deliciousness, Then came the Lamb Tagine, Life Changing! Pure Excellence! Then we had a beautiful bottle of red wine from Italy 🇮🇹 it was a beautiful pair to our outstanding meal. Finally I tried one of the most beautiful desserts ever prepared The Pasha Pillow, so light and creamy with many beautiful floral notes, an absolute masterpiece. As a Culinarian & Foodie I was completely wowed by this establishment, Highly Recommend Servia! Check it out! It's a must try! Ask for my buddy Joseph, he's an...
