MJ Teriyaki — Restaurant in Boston

You know you're a foodie when you have friends that hit you up and asked if you tried this place yet LOL it's been in the works but MJ Teriyaki finally opened. They're running a special right now till February. Buy 1 get 1 50% off teriyaki plates.

I had to try a few things. I started off with their chicken dumplings. It was fried well and it was tasteful. For their promotion, I ordered the chicken teriyaki and shrimp teriyaki (portion is huge). Both tasted so good. It reminded me so much of Sarku Japan from the mall food courts. I had to make sure I tried a specialty sushi roll. I ordered my favorite which was a volcano roll. I will give it a 7-8/10. Im used to it having scallops but it's with tuna. I'm not complaining because it was still good for a local sushi place lol I would definitely get it again.

The decor is bright and welcoming. The front desk was super friendly. Kitchen staff was also friendly because they also said hi and good morning to you from their kitchen window. I love that. Places with great energy and great vibes.

Overall from my first experience here, they just got one loyal customer LOL expect me to come here very often because I love chicken teriyaki plates lol

My husband & I love this place !! I’m sure they know our faces lmaooo The costumer service is good BUT it can be better but I’m not going to be too judgmental ; All I’m going to say I had got into it a couple times with the cashiers taking orders & not comprehending what I’m saying but anyways the food is goodddd my only problem is they don’t give a good enough portion of teriyaki chicken that you paid for ; I’ve recently twice order the chicken teriyaki with fried rice & when I tell you they give you more rice & veggies than teriyaki chicken * I’m sorry I didn’t take a picture or video * but no worries next time I will matter fact next time I will be telling them stop skimping me on my meat !!

Anyways the sushi 😘🤌🏾 I’ma sushi lover ! But honestly the sushi is delicious ! The appetizers yessss crab rangoon & the fried chicken make sure you get it WELL DONE !!!! It be crispyyyyy & don’t forget to dip or pour the sauce that comes with it !

Solid affordable spot, staff at register was welcoming and accommodated nontraditional substitution requests. Our 4 orders were served pretty quickly and everyone enjoyed their teriyaki and bento dishes (beef, shrimp, salmon). The salmon teriyaki I ordered came with a lot of rice which was not a negative, but I personally would prefer more veggies instead. bonus points for being a unique restaurant for the area.

Update 4 months later: service is still great, however salmon portion was noticeably smaller with thinner pieces for the same dish (see photos). The noodles could use a little more flavor/salt, added a soy sauce packet to compensate. I tried a fruit tea and it was a good size but too syrupy...
