I was very excited to try a new local coffee shop, but I was quickly disappointed by the overall experience. I asked to get a cup of steamed milk but was told I would be charged for a latte (which was $6), even if I didn’t want the espresso. The manager interrupted and very snidely explained that once a cup of milk was steamed it became a latte. I then asked if we could get just a cup of milk and they said yes and it was $3. The barista asked if we maybe wanted a hot chocolate instead and when we asked how much that was, the manager again butted in and said that their prices were in the menu (while there was a hot chocolate, it had espresso in it and I just wanted to know if there was a price difference for plain hot chocolate). We ended up paying $3 for the smallest cup of milk ever (for some reason, they put the milk in the smallest hot cup even though the milk was cold). Despite this exchange only lasting about 2 minutes, the manager is visibly angry and tells the people behind us that she can take their order and continues to glare at us as we finish ordering and paying. When we leave the shop, my friend says thank you and goodbye to the manager and she completely ignored them and gave them a dirty look. After looking at other reviews the owners don’t seem open to criticism or improving the quality of their service and are knit interested in arguing. I would not recommend my worker enemy go here. If you dare to go, it should only be for the blind tiger. I have warned all of my coworkers to never visit. I hope the owner realizes that antagonizing customers is probably not a good...
Read moreJust moved down the street from Sugarbowl. Was super excited to try this place since it's only a 3 minute walk from my home. Unfortunately, I was really let down by this place. We paid close to $30 dollars for 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees. Par for the course, but when you dish that much out for a coffee and a sando, you expect it to be at least decent. We both got extra shots of espresso in our lattes, and they were so weak that we couldn't even taste the coffee. It was like drinking pure iced milk.
Also, while we were waiting for our sandwiches, the whole restaurant started to fill up with smoke because one of the staff members must have burnt some bread. No biggie, mistakes happen. Unfortunately, the burnt bread that filled up the restaurant with smoke ended up on our sandwiches. I made a joke to my partner "watch, that burnt bread is our sandwiches." Sure enough, my joke was accurate.
The staff was friendly and the service was good, aside from the bland coffee and burnt sandwiches. Maybe they were having an off day today, so maybe I will give them another try...
Read moreThe owner / manager lady was very disrespectful and rude to me. I needed to use the restroom and saw a sign outside that said "restroom is for customers only". I entered the establishment, purchased two items, and asked to use the restroom. Only after the owner / manager had taken my money, did she tell me that her bathroom is private and not for customers.
I pointed out the sign and told her that I was a paying customer, who had specifically made a purchase because I was handicap and in need of a restroom.
She not only refused to let me use the facility, but she was rude to me and talked down to me as if I was a bad person for asking to use her "Private Bathroom" . She should be ashamed.
I would give less than one star if that was an option.
I will never return to this establishment again and I will be sure to let everyone know how bad they treated a handicap customer.
THE OWNER'S REPLY IS NOT TRUTHFUL .... READ ALL THE BAD REVIEWS AND IT IS OBVIOUS HOW BAD...
