To be honest, I was very skeptical when I saw that this place had 5 stars. I assumed the reviews were fake or incentivized at best. I live in S. Boston and had never seen or heard of VFCeats, but it was open and nearby, so I ordered a medium pizza and a chicken finger dinner for delivery. To my great suprise, almost 20 minutes after I placed the order, I received a call from the delivery driver looking for my place. Two minutes later, he was at my door. He was very sweet and even stopped my cat from running out the door! Food was fresh, hot and pretty good value considering the portions were huge. A med 4 topping pizza left 3 hungry adults full (with leftover slices) and the chicken finger dinner was more than enough for two people. The pizza was delicious - they didn't skimp on toppings, the chicken fingers (plain, crispy) were crispy and well-seasoned, and the side salad had a good assortment of fresh veggies beyond lettuce and a random tomato. The fries were ok - crispy, hot, inoffensive. Overall, I was very impressed with the presentation, quality and taste of the food as well as the speed of delivery. I think this might be my new local pizza...
Read moreVFCeats is a really interesting concept. They're trying to be a "virtual food court" where you can get all the options of a food court in one place. It's sort of a ghost kitchen that you can go to. They've got tons of options, and all of them are pretty good.
First off, they've got Bubble Tea. It's YumCha! which is a famous Chinese brand, so this is the real deal. Their Oreo Milk Tea is ridiculously good.
Next they've got pizza. The pizza is pretty decent, and a few options such as the Southwest Pizza are creative and good. The pizza in general isn't too expensive and it does the job.
They've also got chicken and a friend vouches that it's good. They've got standard salads, subs (also pretty good), dinner plates, and burgers.
They have a lot of creative burgers such as the Pizza Burger, but let me say I just got a bacon cheeseburger and it was one of the best I've ever had. No b.s. It was large, perfectly flavored, and exceeded my expectations in all ways. Most importantly it was affordable. I think this may have to be my go-to from now on and I wish I took a picture of just how perfect this burger was.
Give VFCeats a try, I was...
Read moreRead the awesome reviews and wanted to try this place out after watching them build it out for the past couple of years. Some takeaways: I’d give the food a 3.5. Not bad, but not great. I’d say right in line with typical Southie take-out, maybe a tick better. Breading did not stick to the tenders. It’s expensive for take-out but you get a pretty solid serving size. Reviews have lauded the service, and in the end they made it ok for me, but it wasn’t great up front. They charge to have blue cheese with tenders/wings and I paid for it, but then it wasn’t placed into my order. Also ordered a chicken parm sub and instead opened up a meatball sub when I got home. The manager wound up refunding me for these items but it wasn’t super easy to get to that result. Entire experience would’ve been great if the order was just done correctly from the start.
Overall, it’s a solid new option in town with great serving sizes. They’ve clearly invested a lot into this business. It’s super clean inside, and everything in general is nicely done including their online order portal. Food is OK, and my personal experience wasn’t great, but would give it...
