Victoria's is a cute, welcoming place. Our B'fast came fresh and relatively fast. Home fries - JTG, hash brown - crispy, fried eggs and omelettes - perfect, seasonal broccoli-mushroom medley - fresh and done just right. French toast (with real maple syrup) delicately flavored - want to go back for more after recovery from food coma :). Our server was friendly, and kept replenishing coffee, in store branded mugs! We read reviews complaining about price. Pricing seemed just right to us and, coming from rooted New Yorkers, our opinion should be weighed in Platinum. The premises is either very well kept over 75 years (highly unlikely for Platinum vintage Victoria's), or recently done. Bright, minimalist and tastefully finished. Has an uplifting ambience, once inside; which can comfortably accommodate 90 in fix-flex seating. Seems the last leg of renovations remains - the charming mascot is darkened in one side of sign cabinet on the Googie pole-sign outside. Should be restored to make it emblematic of Victoria's, which is still vivacious!

Victoria's Diner is an old fashioned East Coast style diner. Growing up in New Jersey I would eat at places like this regularly. They are little less common in New England, but this little diner is rich in Boston lore and is a great place to get an affordable meal and a cup of coffee. The Patty Melt burger pictured below held together very well and was flavorful and cooked nicely at medium rare. You may order anywhere from rare to well done on burgers. The fries were crispy and not too limp. Vegetarians may want to take note that these fries are cooked in oil alongside meats. The menu has several vegetarian options despite being a traditional Dorchester eatery, so anyone can find something to eat here. Overall this is a solid, no nonsense diner and would not be out of place in New Jersey or New York - a big compliment from someone who misses Jersey diners.

I visited this diner on a Sunday and from the moment we walked in, I could smell the goodness in the place! My friend and I went around 11AM and were seated immediately. I had the Spanish omelette and added apple sausage to it with a side of breakfast potatoes (pictured below). I really enjoyed it. The omelette ingredients were good and the chef was generous with the chicken sausage! I asked for hot sauce on the side, hoped for sriracha, but the options were Franks and Tabasco. Only real draw back is that my utensils weren’t all the way clean and the booth we sat in had duck tape in it that was rising and damaged my pants a bit. Otherwise, I’d recommend Victoria’s to folks and go back myself! Update: I’ve been back and tried the french toast which I enjoyed. The portion was hefty.

I've wanted to share my work experience with you all. I had never been more prepared for a job in my life because i truly wanted this position as a server. I studied the menu top to bottom. i made que cards and i had proven to my managers that i was ready since the first day. They noticed that and i was put on the floor quickly. A few days in we had a restaurant meeting with everyone and that's when i started to realize i stepped into Hell. The owners are husband and wife, who have never managed a restaurant before. They barely greeted the employees with the sour face they kept on from the start. Instantly they started talking about all these miniscule things that the employees weren't doing right. Even go to talk about their bills with the building as if the employees forced the owners to buy that place. One of the experienced servers was there hearing all of this and his reaction was that of he'd heard this RANT 1,000,000 times before. I couldn't believe some of the stuff that was being said. we had issues in the area with fake money and if we didnt have our marking pen then we would have to go home lol. ALSO Now this is the moment i almost walked out. One of the biggest issues for me was that If you messed up an order by either putting the wrong food in or forgetting something, literally anything. You were forced to pay for that food that was wasted. UNBELIEVEABLE. They enforced rules by making threats. I had walked away from that meeting very worried about what was to come. I had already worked a full day training with our manager and when i tell you i did EVERYTHING, I did EVERYTHING. did she give me any tips.... NO. anyways, further down the week i had been treated the worse i had ever been treated by a manager. screamed at in front of everyone for something i dont even remember why. One of the owners was right there in the corner and when i approached him and said that i should not have to go through something like that especially when ive been congratulated by the managers and owners for being so prepared for the position. He flipped the situation around instantly! Telling me that i was coming after him! That he doesn't know what to do about it and that i should mind myself more. Another was when i was purposely deceived by one of my fellow employees. it was at the end of the shift. I was exhausted. He had come up to me and told me the manager said after i was done cleaning my section that I can go home and don't worry about it. I cleaned up. i wasn't sat again. I went up to the manger and said i was all set and i clocked out and left. Then the next day i was pulled in by another manager asking me why i had the right to leave? i was deceived by this worker because he wanted to take the rest of the tables for the day and tried to get rid of me because of how well i was doing and in his mind i was taking "his" tables. I couldn't believe what i was going through. Everyday the owners or managers were telling us something that we were doing wrong. EVERY SINGLE DAY! All of the employees worked as hard as they could every shift and there wasn't a single "lazy" person in the entire restaurant. Covid-19 happened a month into working there. Blessing in disguise. And did the owners ever call me when the restaurant opened back up? No... but i certainly wasnt upset about that. They have single handedly destroyed that restaurant by their own egos instead of working with their employees they worked against them. This isnt only my opinion either. A couple employees had been there For over 30-40 years since the original owners and they said it has never been this bad. The prices are crazy. we get a 20% discount on food lmao. Were not even trusted to put our own order in to pay for it. Trust gos both ways. Respect gos both ways. A relationship between boss and employee is vital especially in a restaurant. Since then, I've moved on to a much better job with people that appreciate the work i put in instead of making threats and putting blame on people. Best of luck to the people who still work there. Thank...

We used to go to Victoria's Diner every week. We'd get 2 orders of chocolate pancakes and cocoa for the kids and coffee and an omelet for me. The waitresses knew who we were and what our order would be, they'd ask the kids about school, I'd pay the $17, and 30 minutes later we'd be on our way to school.

It has been about 3 years since our last visit, so when we were driving through the area on the way home from a trip we decided to order some of the chocolate chip pancakes my kids used to love. I called the diner to place our order when we were about 10 minutes away. I was told they would not take a phone order because "the website is easier". I was driving, so I told them I'd just order when I got there. After the hostess insisted on seating all the people who came in behind us, she finally took our order.

We got 2 orders of pancakes, each order had 2 pancakes. It cost us over $20! For 4 pancakes, no sides, no drinks, no omelet. I mentioned that it seemed a bit much for 2 orders of pancakes and they offered to "break it down" for me. They charge $3 each order for the chocolate chips. $7 pancakes and $6 for chocolate chips. We went to sit on a bench inside the door to wait for our food. A sour waitress came over to tell us we were blocking the fire exit? And that we'd have to wait in the hallway (it's more like a vestibule, between the 2 exit doors). My family opted to wait in the car for 20 minutes while I waited in the vestibule for what ended up being 4 small, dry pancakes, a few (apparently $6 worth) chocolate chips, 9 packets of jelly?, and no utensils. I understand that restaurants get busy, and that waiting tables is a really tough job, but the staff seemed downright unhappy. It seems that management has put their bottom line before all else. I suppose that price hikes and under staffing are a quick way to make money before your restaurant goes out of business. This used to be a cute little neighborhood diner, with good service, good food, and a decent price. It saddens me that this is no longer the case. If I'm going to pay $6 for 15 chocolate chips, I certainly don't expect to be treated poorly. I hope Victoria's diner rethinks their business model before the neighborhood loses what used to...

I wish I knew the name of my waitress so warn everyone about her. She was the rudest person I have ever met in a service industry. I felt like someone was going to jump out with a camera and tell me I was on a tv show it was that bad. I was with five other people when someone tried to order a milkshake she was rude and acted like it was such an inconvenience saying that it was going to take a long time with a blatant attitude. Three people ended up ordering shakes two had coffee and we all asked for water. Coffee came out and she said she would get the water and shakes. Shakes came out two other people in my party tried it and decided to order them as well. The waitress literally huffed and puffed saying that it would take too long and they said it was fine. The lady came back with the shakes with someone else and said the person made your shakes say thank you to her.... they did and I just couldn’t believe it the person who they thanked laughed at the waitress when she said it and shook her head. So she already had some of the food as well. She gave everyone there food but mine was wrong as well as another persons in my party. She immediately took the food back and said she would come back with the correct food. I have yet to receive my water and now am waiting for half of my food. So before she leaves I told her I needed a water. This lady really had the nerve to tell me no that she is trying to deal with the food first. I was not happy I told her that is nice but I have yet to get a drink, so she brought me one right away. I was eating chocolate chip pancakes that I didn’t want to get cold while she was dealing with the rest of my food. It took forever to get the check. We paid cash and one person put her meal on her card. We gave her 35 on an $85 bill in hopes she uses the money to get out of that industry she ended up apologizing after seeing the tip. This lady acted like we were screwing her counting the cash out loud! We gave her I am absolutely sure that if someone in charge actually reads this they will know EXACTLY who I am talking about. It was not an isolated incident she was clearly rude to another...
