If your giving this black owned business ANYTHING less than 4 stars you may need to reevaluate life because this establishment not only has potential for growth; but to reach exceptional heights! I must say, it delivered an unforgettable culinary adventure that appealed to all my senses. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making my family and I feel right at home.
The menu boasted a remarkable diversity of elegant dishes that truly impressed me. I tried the jackfruit empanadas and smoked jerk tofu with spinach, each accompanied by their amazing homemade Zazi sauce. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the textures were perfectly on point; divine I must say! The wings were cool too! Forgot to mention their salmon hushpuppies oh momma!! Not sure of the type of cornmeal they used, but can be overwhelming. The mass majority can give the fritters an unappealingly gritty texture, however the COOK made it super satisfactory to the taste buds savory, golden CRISP. They had a crispy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior and the Zazi sauce put it to a different stratosphere
A big shoutout to Marlynda, our wonderful hostess, who added an extra layer of warmth to the experience. The artistry and innovation of the mixologist were equally impressive, crafting classic cocktails and modern creations with meticulous attention to detail. Her efforts alone made an outstanding outlook a worthwhile spent trip to Boston. Going the extra mile & consistent excellence to make sure we were satisfied. My favorite was the pumpkin espresso martini—simply divine in flavor! Absolutely luscious, layered with creamy & warm flavors. Also had the The New Vintage. This was Slow & Low. I like rye , so this was my speed. Old head vibes lol. Dangerous drinkable, had quite a nice spiciness that integrates perfectly with the floral and citrus. The Lavender Fields, is devisive to some bc some say it taste like hand soap, but I love it. Good on presentation and if you like dry gin, this is up your alley! Blends the floral of Gin with the sweet and slightly tart flavors of Crème De Violette.
This establishment exceeded my expectations and truly ignited the atmosphere with its vibrant energy. I believe in supporting black-owned businesses, and this one has the potential to grow and continue impressing its patrons. It’s a fantastic spot to visit before or after hitting the town, making it an excellent choice for celebrating special occasions. I celebrated my brother’s birthday here, and it was the perfect setting to honor his future successes. I’m blessed to see black businesses thriving in Boston, and this speakeasy is definitely worth a visit! We...
Read moreMy partner and I went out for a date night for our 3rd anniversary on Friday 12/8. We made a reservation for ZaZiBar. I wanted to surprise my partner with flowers and balloons however I called the bar to make sure it was ok to drop them off beforehand. The woman I spoke to was incredibly nice and accommodating; she gave me the ok. Fast forward to Friday night, the General Manager, Bryan (apologies if misspelled), was super helpful and attentive with helping me store the flowers somewhere until she and I arrived later on. He and the hostess even went as far as to let me pick out a good table for us. When we arrived, the balloons and roses were nicely placed on our table and the surprise was a success thanks to Bryan and the staff. As this was our first stop of the night, we had a couple of cocktails and shared an appetizer. Major kudos to the bartender (Zacky; I apologize if I misspelled). The drinks were absolute perfection in every way. She had delivered our second round of drinks and was in love with her personality. Diana was our amazing server who also offered to take our photo for us and the photos came out gorgeous! The music was definitely on point as well. Bryan queued up It's Our Anniversary by Tony! Toni! Toné! and surprised us with two glasses of champagne. To tell you that we were sincerely caught off guard is an understatement. The only thing that I would suggest is placing rope to prevent people from walking through the dining space. And also, it may be a good idea to place additional dividers to truly help in making the space a little more intimate and preventing the strong draft from blowing throughout whenever the doors open and close. All in all, it was definitely a night to remember thanks to Bryan, Diana and Zacky. You all are tremendously wonderful and I cannot thank you enough for making our 3rd anniversary one to definitely remember. Bryan, you were true to your word when you said that you would make sure that this was special. We are both still smiling about it! We will definitely be back soon!...
Read moreI made a reservation for 5 and we got to the bar on time with a final party of 4 we waited almost 3 mins for someone to show up at the host desk when she did try to seat us we literally couldn’t pull out 1 of the chairs to sit down at a marble counter top, due to this inconvenience I went back to the host to tell her we can’t all fit could we take the table behind us she told us no it’s for a reservation that was coming in then proceeded to take another 15mins saying she’s trying to figure it out but you can clearly tell there was nothing to figure out it wasn’t until I told her I’m going to just leave since you can’t accommodate MY reservation that she gets the short manager guy who also just looks around room as if something would change so we walked out… now here’s really why I wouldn’t go back because when I stepped out to the atm less than 10mins of walking out I noticed that the same table they couldn’t accommodate us with never got seated and was still empty when we left from the other restaurant we ate at instead and that was a disrespect to me and my guests… now I’m disputing with OpenTable because they are trying to charge me a $25 no show fee but they are the ones who couldn’t accommodate and how would I know that if I...
