I had the samosa chaat as an entree and a mango lassi. The staff was perfectly friendly but seemed a little annoyed that our party of 4 did not arrive all at once. The first thing I noticed was the bathrooms were a little dirty, but when I sat in the booth and looked down at the space between the leather cushion and the wood of the bench, there were years worth of crumbs in the crack. However, I am not easily deterred from enjoying decent Indian food, and everything else looked fairly clean, at least in the low light. The plates and silverware were spotless. The samosa chaat was delicious. I have zero complaints. I am from a part of Ohio where there are many Indian restaurants from your standard Americanized Punjabi food to more traditional South Indian options. So I think I have higher standards than most, but the samosa chaat held up to them. The mango lassi was warm, and I have never had a warm lassi before, but I trusted that the lassi was stored properly and just poured earlier than the food was ready. It was very good, and not too sweet, which I...
Read moreAbsolutely loved this place! Gorgeous yet casual interior and excellent service. The food was delicious, but not quite as hot as we're used to from Bombay Darbar in Coral Gables, Florida, so next time we are definitely getting our dishes hot instead of medium (chicken Tikka masala was pretty mild, the chicken vindaloo had a little more heat). Otherwise, it was excellent! We will definitely be back. Happy to find a restaurant in Boulder that's not quite so expensive but still absolutely delicious! Also- our drink glasses were chilled, which is a small thing that makes a big difference over the course of a meal.
Side note- I am gluten intolerant, and this restaurant is mostly gluten free (naan is wheat flour, but the sauces and pappa dan are made without wheat). It's so nice to be able to really fill my belly and share food with friends and family without worrying about...
Read moreWow where to begin. If you don't know Indian food then it's good. But for people who know, this is awful...clearly that's what the reviews are showing.
Undercooked chicken and overcooked rice. The lady rushing us out. As Indians, we were absolutely disappointed. My mom could've made this with 3 ingredients and her eyes closed. And for their insane prices and low quantity, the taste was also compromised. Also, almost no chicken in our meals when they were nonveg. It basically felt veg. Did they just microwave this food?
Fermented mango lassi. Not sweet. Almost like alcohol. Not pleasant.
We feel kind of betrayed. Do Indians cook here? If not, bring them in to help. Boulder restaurants have been disappointing in general thus far. Was hoping this place could change my mind because it looked promising. Stop ripping people off for overall less than mediocre...
