While shopping on Pearl Street, I walked into Free People to shop. They have awesome mirrors in there so I used one of the mirrors to check out the body suit I was wearing (hello perfect view of my backside without having to twist or use a hand held mirror!) The actual OWNER came to me while using the mirror in the dressing room and said, "these mirrors are for customers only." Caught by surprise, I then replied, "I'm just looking at my outfit, first, and plan on trying some clothes on. I'll be right out. She then starts to say I need to leave within 5 mins of me being there. Even after I was trying to try on a pair of pants. Apparently, you aren't allowed to look at yourself in the mirrors first. When I asked to speak to the manager she said, very rudely, "I'm the owner." (GOOD TO KNOW.) I swear, it was like a scene out of Pretty Women. When I told her I wouldn't be back and that she lost a customer due to her rudeness, she asked one of the employees to CALL THE POLICE as I was already on my way out. Knowingly, that she didn't want any of the other customers to hear about the way she had treated me. As might be expected, I will never shop there again. Plus, I'm an average size and they rarely have a "big" enough size. If you're bigger than a size...
Read moreI had to write this video because today I was in the free people store and really beautiful clothes was looking forward to buying some when police showed up and said there was an active bomb threat and to shelter in place! It was me and my mom and another customer and the three store employees in the store and I have to tell you I cannot be more grateful that this was the store and these were the staff that my mom and I were with us when this happened. They took it seriously we all went to the basement and when it was decided that the safest option was to evacuate two of the staff members walked with the woman back to her hotel which was very close and another staff member drove me and my mom across town to another mall because we had come in an Uber. To take the customers in your store safety so seriously that you go out of your way when in a crisis to make sure that they're safe is absolutely what incredible customer services and I feel like everyone of those girls deserves a raise because he just could not of handled it better there calmness is what kept everyone else calm! So thank you again for the staff we really...
Read moreI purchasing a $150 pair of Birkenstocks through Free People, expecting a brand-new, clean pair. What I received was filthy, clearly used, and completely unacceptable. The shoes had visible dirt, deep toe imprints, worn soles, and they were shipped in a plastic bag with no box, no wrapping, and no packaging of any kind.
This was not a mistake. It was a complete failure in quality control. These were clearly returned by someone else, worn, and just reshipped without anyone checking. I ordered them for myself and now I am stuck with disgusting shoes I cannot even wear.
Customer service did not resolve it. Even after sending photos showing the damage, they make me wait 72 hours for a review just to get help. No urgency. No accountability. No care.
I have never had an experience this bad ordering online. I will never shop at Free People again. Buyer beware. This company does not stand behind the quality of what they send and their customer service is robotic at best. Save...
