Palermo's Italian Bakery — Restaurant in Boynton Beach

I don’t do reviews, but our experience was so bad, I had to give a review.

My husband is Sicilian. We were visiting from Virginia and wanted a good bakery with Sicilian pastries. We drove 45 minutes that day, just to visit this bakery.

There was an older lady and a young lady working the counter. Since there were no names on the pastries, I asked the older lady what several of the pastries were. She seemed bothered that I was asking, so I felt too uncomfortable to ask anything else.

After she walked away, I decided on a couple pastries that the young girl was getting for me. My husband wasn’t sure what he wanted, so he kept looking. The young girl seemed VERY bothered that we weren’t sure what and how many pastries we wanted. She kept asking “is that going to be all”. She got so irritated with us, saying she needed to know what size box to put them in. We felt very rushed. And we were the only people in the store.

After boxing what we chose, I paid for the pastries. Then my husband seen coffee cake sitting on top of the counter and decided he wanted a piece. When I asked for it, she really showed her attitude! I asked her if there was a problem, but she ignored me. The older lady came back to the front counter, folded her arms, then stared at me until we left. I felt super uncomfortable until we left the bakery. Looking back on it, I should’ve given back the parties and asked for my money back. That was probably the worst service I’ve ever had.

Now, for the taste. We got 7 pastries and only one was good. That coffee cake from on top of that counter HAD to be something they were getting ready to throw away. It looked and tasted like it had been left out, uncovered for days. They knew they were selling an old coffee cake. Why would anyone sell something so bad?

We will NEVER go back to that place. I can’t believe they stay in business with those attitudes.

I recommend you find a better bakery. There are much better...

I am beyond disappointed. I order 30 cookies for my baby shower. When I made the order I went in and showed them the picture of the how I wanted the cookies to look and made it clear I wanted them just like the photo only the name on the onesie would be my soon to be born sons name. Asked them if they had done it before and they made it seem like it was easy and I had nothing to worry about. I paid $240 for these cookies. The day before the baby shower the cookies were picked up by my mother and not only did they not look like the photo I had provided them with, you couldn’t make out the name of my son and there was a #1 on the onesie which I never asked to be added on. I texted the owner that night to express how upset I was and got a response that they “tried to call me serval times the night before to clarify the color on the onesie”. They called once, at 8pm to which I was asleep and called them back first thing in the morning but no one answered, I left a detailed message and texted Anna the owner right away. The response I received from Anna was made to seem like it was my fault and that they would refund me for the cookies that had a #1 on them. Here I am almost a week later no one followed up and I wasted money on cookies I was to embarrassed to even present at my own baby shower. The photo below will show what I asked for...

This was one of my favorite places. I spend a lot of money all year long especially the holidays. Thanksgiving ordered pies very early too. Ok get there pick up one of the pies missing. So why Order ? Thank God Anna jumped in and found me an extra pie. Then I was told by this young gentleman can’t butter rolls no time. Lol. Wow I could imagine being from NY if a bakery there ever told me that. Nope. Now another visit …, Any cheese danish , told u are looking at them ok. Last time I was there gave me 2 chocolate not cheese ….so I did explain that n she starts to give me an explanation of the difference ! I know that u made the mistake. Next two buttered rolls pls. Aren’t any gone u have come early for those. Really ? It’s 815 am. Next struffolis .. they are out every year there I walk in n leave. Nope told u have order them. I said really I never did last 7 Christmas’. She tells me well they aren’t here do u see them. ??? Needless to say I left n didn’t order my cheesecake and cannolis for Christmas. Not happy Anna is incredible. N all the bakeries good are like NY. But their staff isn’t anymore … rude and unprofessional. If I do go back only to...
