APPARENTLY TEXAS ROADHOUSE ONLY REPLIES TO GOOD REVIEWS Was the hostess unconsciously racist? Was it intentional? Not sure. Did it make us very uncomfortable? YES.
I went here on a quick dinner date. My date was a black man. I know that should be irrelevant right? Thing is the way this location is set up there is a small section to the left of where you walk in that’s kinda closed off from the rest of the restaurant. When we arrived we waited a few minutes with 3 other couples who were all white. Two of the couples were seated out in the main section. Then it was our turn, we were brought into the small section to the left into the far corner. After a few minutes I said something about being put in the corner with the only other table with black people. (The was a couple in the opposite corner of the section) And that the last couple that we were waiting with were not seated anywhere near us. He said he was glad it wasn’t just him that noticed. I asked if he could see any other black people in the restaurant. Nope. We started eating and the hostess seats the table behind us, a group of young black women. We were like ok this is weird but maybe it’s coincidence?! Right? This girl couldn’t possibly be segregating the black people from the rest of the restaurant right?! Me being white and noticing i felt absolutely obligated to say something. I was waiting on our waiter (Dalton I think was his name, he was great) but as I was waiting here came the hostess with an older black couple. Now the 4 tables in the corner are occupied by black people and the rest of the restaurant is a bunch of white folks. At this point my date got up and went to ask for the manager. Destiny I think her name is. He said she was apologetic, and she didn’t believe the hostess realized what she was doing. But I find that to be unbelievable. Was anything done to correct the situation? Nope.
In this society, in 2025, in the United States, being actively not racist means being aware of yourself and the impact that you have on those around you. Ignorance is no longer an excuse. I don’t know if it was the hostess, some weird disgraceful thing the restaurant does, or a bizarre coincidence. But it was highly...
Read moreI usually LOVE going here. Our servers are usually really nice. Last night, it was horrible. Our server Juju practically ignored us the whole time we were there. She cracked one joke. She had like 3 or 4 other tables aside from us. She checked on her other tables every 5 to 10 minutes but only checked on us once.
She wasn't even the one to bring our food. She refilled our drinks ONCE. We kept asking for more bread, we never got more. We got our initial basket and there were three of us. I can eat 2 baskets just by myself. I was with my uncle and my fiancé. We down the bread like it's going out of style. I usually get about 4 refills when I eat. I got one.
She never even brought us our bill. I paid using the kiosk. She didn't come say bye or thank you. Didn't offer any boxes. Didn't come to ask if everything was okay. My fiancé even ordered a bowl of chili and got a cup. She didn't charge us the difference, so I'm not complaining much about that.
But the overall service was horrible. I still gave her a nice tip for an 82 dollar bill. We usually tip the 10 regardless of what we get. If I was never a server, I would've given her no tip. I know servers rely mostly on tips. In my opinion, I don't even think she deserved the tip.
It's one thing if she forget a few things, but not checking on her ONE table out of the 4 and she can CLEARLY see you guys and passes you, is unacceptable. I haven't seen my uncle in FOUR years and he wanted to go here. It was embarrassing when I told him this location is really good and to have this happen.
I'll be back, but I will definitely make sure to request anyone else other than Juju. This isn't the only time, either. My parents, when I told them about this, they knew exactly who I was talking about because the same thing...
Read moreI recently dined at Texas Roadhouse and had a fantastic experience, even during the busy dinner hour around 7:00 PM. Despite the crowd, we were served efficiently without feeling rushed, which I truly appreciated. Our waitress was absolutely amazing—attentive, friendly, and just made the whole experience even better!
One of the highlights of the evening was the fun birthday celebrations we got to witness. They have a lively tradition where everyone cheers for the birthday person and then shouts "yeehaw!" It definitely added to the festive atmosphere!
As for the food, it was impeccable! We started with the Cactus Blossom onion and a combo platter featuring boneless wings, potato skins, and fried pickles. The boneless wings had a bit more kick than we expected, even though we ordered mild, but everything was so delicious that it didn’t matter. For our main courses, we enjoyed filet medallions with corn, rice, and American fries, along with a beautiful salmon Caesar salad and a baked potato. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection!
The best part? The total bill was just around $70, which was a pleasant surprise considering the quality and quantity of the food we enjoyed.
Overall, the whole experience was awesome. If you're looking for great food, a fun atmosphere, and exceptional service, Texas Roadhouse is definitely the place to go! Can't...
