DO NOT STAY HERE -- THEY ARE THIEVES!!! I stayed here at the END of September for a business trip and I brought SEVERAL of my important APPLE devices with me as I had work to do. I left my room several times for food and various reasons and felt no need to pack my things and take them with me each time. However, upon check out time I could not find my laptop which I know for a fact that I had set on the dresser in front of the television. I brushed it off thinking that I may have packed it away already and forgot. Once I checked out I had a 4 hour drive to my next business conference and when I arrived I realized that I did not have my laptop in my bag either so I used "Find My Device" and saw the laptop was FULLY CHARGED and still at the hotel. I then called the hotel before my meeting started and asked that they check the room and see if it was still there and I overlooked it, the desk attendant Connie took the call and said she would get a hold of a housekeeper and have them take a peek. I called back roughly over an hour later AFTER my meeting and spoke with Connie again where she informed me they were not able to find my MacBook Air Laptop. As we were on the phone TOGETHER, I used "Find My Device" AGAIN and it showed that the laptop was TURNED OFF but the last known location was AT THE HOTEL 23 MINUTES AGO!!!! I informed Connie of this and she immediately said she would ask the Head Of Housekeeping to review and see if it was logged and they would get back to me. I have been calling for OVER A MONTH asking about my MacBook laptop and everyone KEEPS telling my Caton the general manager will call me back and he has NEVER reached out to me and refused to acknowledge the issue of my laptop being missing. I continued calling multiple times a week even to the point of calling CORPORATE when I FINALLY got a call back from a woman named Kelly AT 7:30PM stating that it is not impossible that the laptop was stolen but the housekeeper who cleaned the room is out of the country on vacation (how convenient lol they steal a $1,500 laptop and sell it and take a trip). I asked Kelly to email AND mail me a letter stating that they did look and could not find the laptop so I could submit an insurance claim where she stated she would do it that same night. This has been OVER A WEEK AGO and I have not heard anything or received anything. I called the hotel AGAIN this morning where I spoke with the RUDEST people EVER. A female named HEATHER answered the phone and I explained to her how my laptop has been missing for over a month and I am just waiting on a letter from Kelly stating the employees could not find it so I can give it to the insurance company. Heather became extremely rude and accusatory stating that I am blaming them for theft and I could've used my tracker to locate the person myself if I felt that way and I should never accuse her of stealing or the other employees even if it was here that I am wrong. After explaining to Heather that I am not arguing this matter with her especially with all of the evidence lined up I stated the laptop was left behind SOMEHOW no matter if it was lost, stolen, or misplaced - I traced it as still being there and MYSTERIOUSLY it was turned off not even an hour later after making them aware. Then a man snatched the phone and began SCREAMING at me by the name of CATON who is allegedly the general manager. He is BY FAR, has the NASTIEST attitude and does not know how to speak to guests. The entire time on the phone he screamed at me and refused to listen to the request that ALL I NEEDED IT A LETTER STATING THAT THE EMPLOYEES CANNOT FIND THE LAPTOP. He threatened me stating he would call the police on me because I am calling him a liar and harassing his employees and he does not care about the missing laptop and they are not going to do...
Read moreI normally hate rating a place off of one interaction but this was too egregious of a stay to not eventually review.
I worked locally and stayed in this hotel as it was pretty fairly priced and albeit a bit of a drive the location was actually pretty decent all things considered. The issue however was the low quality of rooms.
I'm more than familiar with Choice Brands and I know and recognize that it is often a gamble on the quality of rooms, that being said Comfort Inn is usually a safe bet and is the mid-grade stay for Choice.
The first immediate issue was the air conditioning (presumably filter) was so smelly and moldy that it made me feel ill staying in the room. I would sneeze and sneeze and sneeze constantly. The smell was so putrid I felt nauseous many nights and struggled to sleep. I reported this to the front desk.
Then I discovered a live bed bug on the second bed on my towel in my room a few nights into my stay. I checked the first bed doing my due diligence but as I wasn't sleeping in the other one I didn't really look at the second bed and that is a major regret. I reported it to the front desk and they moved me no issue and I even said if they'd like to have the manager call me I can explain what I saw and show them pictures. I'll get into how terrible the General Manager handled that phone call in a bit.
When they moved me to the second room it was likewise a nightmare. The bed was rickety and would lean when I rolled over, the fridge didn't work and I had to get it replaced, the shower didn't drain properly, and the toilet shook. I was worried when reporting these other issues as I was anxious about getting checked out, remember that phone call?
Let's get into that phone call now. He called me to scream at me over the phone about how I'm a liar and how offended he was that I discovered a bed bugs in his hotel. All I wanted was to inform him and help in whatever policy and procedure they might have involving bed bugs I didn't even mind the situation itself and at the time didn't want a refund. He threatened to check me out of the hotel when I informed him I had pictures I was willing to show him so he can complete a full investigation. Keep in mind I was working night shift and would not have time to make new accommodations. I had to do all the de-escalation just so I wouldn't have to try to find a last minute hotel during when I was supposed to be sleeping. On top of that he took the liberty to inform me that my request of not being woken up by housekeeping was being denied (after I got him to calm down enough to not check me out) and that they would continue to wake me up every 4 days.
The rest of the staff were lovely people but the General Manager is by far one of the worst service workers I've ever...
Read moreMy family was finishing up a week long vacation, and this was the last of three Comfort Inn & Suites we stayed at throughout the week. This particular Comfort Inn was lacking, in several areas, especially in comparison to the two Comfort Inn & Suites we stayed at earlier in the week.
Staff seemed to be friendly and adequate, especially the breakfast crew. The lobby was under construction but otherwise clean, tidy, and typical of a hotel within this price range. Our complaints start with our hotel room.
The room was picked up and the beds were made as you would expect, but there was an awful, musty smell and it was clear the room hadn't been dusted in several days, if not weeks. It was quite warm in the room and we hoped once we got the air conditioning unit running the smell would dissipate and become less noticeable. Not only did the smell NOT dissipate, the air conditioning unit failed to work properly. Regardless of how low we set the unit temperature, the actual room temperature remained between 74 and 78 degrees.
In addition to the dusty surfaces and fixtures, the carpet was horribly dirty. Like, so dirty that it was sticky (my socks would literally stick to the carpet as I walked across the room). And we had our 2 year old and 8 month old with us, both of whom naturally spend a lot of time playing and crawling across the floor. The carpet was so incredibly filthy, the knees of their pajama bottoms and the bottoms of our socks are all permanently stained (I've treated, soaked, and washed them twice now). I would have to wipe down my kids' hands, feet, and legs constantly because after five minutes of playing on the floor, they would be BLACK with grime (not just dirty, but BLACK).
To add insult to injury, we attempted to wash a small load of clothes in their washer and dryer. I don't expect using a hotel washer and dryer to be cheap (it was $1 for a detergent pod, $1 for a dryer sheet, $1 for the washer, and $1 for the dryer - that we had to run twice), but I do expect the units to work properly. The washer seemed to do it's job (the clothes came out wet, anyway), but we had to run the dryer twice (more than an hour and a half total) and our clothes STILL weren't dry. We had to bring our wet clothes with us to our friend's home, who graciously let us use their dryer. So, $5 for a two hour long process that yielded questionably clean, sopping wet clothes. We learned our lesson.
The only real positive that I can muster is that breakfast was reasonably tasty both mornings, and they seemed to have a decent range of options. The breakfast staff were friendly, helpful, and kept up with...
