Normally we would expect a little more from a "3 Star rated" hotel. The clerk at the front desk when I asked about parking up front if it was closer to our room. She directed me to park at the far end and use the entrance there. We did and ended up walking all the way down to our room that was the first one from the lobby. My wife has issues with walking long distances, but managed by taking her time. I ended up pulling our vehicle around by the back door which was half the distance from before. Room was ok, typical 2 queen beds (that were comfortable), along with the louder than a freight train exhaust fan in the bathroom. Next morning in the normal rush along with lots of other people to grab a bite at the breakfast area, was a real disappointment! They featured sausages, (only two or three left) Scrambled eggs (empty), pancakes to cook (empty), bagels (one left which my wife got), yogurt machine (empty). There was only one worker who also was the lobby worker trying his best to get food put out, but missed most of the rush as a group of what appeared to be workers had to rush out the door. Several without any food. And yes, we get it. The place was apparently busy, in which you would know the evening before, however, the person working was doing his best to not interact with the patrons with a simple "Hey folks, I'm doing my best here. I'm a bit short handed", etc. can go a long way! Is this the worst place we have stayed at? No But sorry, we won't be back. There is a Fairfield, and a Hampton Inn right there we will try next time, as this is a halfway point to our daughters house which we travel several...
Read moreI’m not new to BW Plus. I make several trips too Illinois because of senior siblings health issues. I stay at this facility many times, and it’s a very clean place, the staff is great but housekeeping leaves a lot too be desired. I checked in on Monday, and I was asked if I wanted housekeeping. I made it easy and told them just clean Thursday-Saturday. I come back after being gone all day into late evening and I think she changed the linens on the bed, but she looks like she was tired of making my bed, and she literally just threw the linens on top of the bed. The duvet and cover was hanging on the floor on both sides. I had been exchanging my dirty towels out and getting clean ones. I gathered all the garbage and gave it to them. But Thursday, the person assigned to clean my room, was too lazy to put the towels in their proper place, I had put them on the sink, but no one touched them. It has been a very hot summer. I checked in, and while getting my luggage out, one of the clients told me that if I wanted ice, I had to walk over to the hotel across from our hotel. I really thought she was kidding but lo and behold, three floors and no ice. I don’t think I will stay at this place again. I hate it, because I have become familiar with the staff and they actually recognize me when I walk in to check in. I’m not being credited with my points properly. As many times I’ve stayed this year, I should have wayyyyy more points than what they’ve given me credit for. But the staff on all shifts are great. I feel they need someone who is willing to supervise the...
Read moreI don't normally leave reviews but I feel this situation warrants it. We were in town for a baseball tournament. When booking the room, I requested early check in. I received a call from the hotel stating the current guest staying in our room wanted to stay another night and asked if we would downgrade to allow this. This was not possible because I had 3 boys with me. My 9 year old has a brain tumor and we needed the space. A single king size bed for 4 people would not be doable for our situation. I don't think she expected that response but was polite. I arrived at the hotel and the room wasn't ready and we had to wait an hour. The staff was friendly and I was grateful they took care of the current guest situation. Check in was smooth and quick. But that's where the hospitality ends. My son's baseball game started fairly late. Afterwards, we stopped for ice cream and arrived back at the hotel around 11:30pm. I was getting the pull-out sofa ready and noticed there was no bedding bag for the sofa. I called down to the front desk and was told I could come down and get sheets. I guess I wasn't expecting to be the person who needed to go get my sheets. They should have been brought to the room. When I arrived at the front desk the worker handed me sheets. No pillows, no blanket. I said, I need pillows and a blanket because there isn't anything in the room. I was told there were none. Excuse me?? For over $300/night I can't get a pillow or blanket? How can a hotel not have a single pillow and blanket? This is...
