My recent stay at the IHG was almost too much to handle. When entering the room, I immediately discovered that the mattress was too high off the floor for safety. The high was over 29 inches, which kept me from even getting on to the mattress without my wife lifting my legs to get my legs on the mattress. THIS WAS WRONG! Also, the perceived thread count on the sheets on The mattress was so poor, the sheets had NO natural adhesion to my bed clothes. Instead, I slid off the bed and wound up on the floor, almost injuring myself. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!
Also, the floor in the walk-in shower was not sloped correctly not safely, resulting in the water from the shower flowing outside the showers area to send water over the ENTIRE bathroom! My wife had to use so many extra towels to assure my safety just walking out of the bathroom that the staff had to supply us with a great number of towels. Our stay SHOULD have been relaxing. Instead I was UNSAFE and my wife had to assist my getting into the bed and doing extra work just to help keep me safe. THIS WAS NOT A SAFE OR RELAXING STAY AT WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD STAY AT A NEWLY REFURBISHED HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS. I cannot recommend ANYONE with a wheelchair or walker or ANY mobility aid to come to this Holiday Inn Express. Safety SHOULD be paramount for IHG This was NOT...
Read moreI did not stay at this hotel, my review is based on the reservation experience. Hotel is in a good location. My wife has a disability and we always book a room with roll in shower. We also call ahead to confirm the reservation for a roll in shower; also, if there is a pool we request the hotel to charge the battery for the wheelchair lift for the pool. In our experience, because these lifts are not used often the battery is not kept charged. When I called the front desk staff said they will take care of the request. The day before our stay I called the hotel again to confirm room and ask about the battery for the wheelchair lift. Few hours later the staff calls me to tell me that the lift broke yesterday or that morning! This is highly improbable. Most likely the lift broke long time ago and the hotel management never bothered to fix it. Apparently now, the parts are in back order. We pay the same rate anyone else pays for the room and amenities and expect to be able to use them like anyone else. I gave 1 star to the hotel for not fixing the wheelchair pool lift on time and not taking responsibility for their mistake and making excuses that it just broke the day before...
Read moreI got 2 suite rooms for my family at the state bowling tournament. One room was everything we expected and comfortable. The second room, we checked in and turned air down and went to dinner. Came back, and it wasn’t getting cooler in room. I called the front desk and explained the problem. We went to pool and came back. Room was extreme hot. I called front desk again and he gave me steps to try. I called back and explained it didn’t fix the problem. He said that he would be right up after he took care of something. Hour and half later still no front desk. In the morning, I came down to talk to front desk and explain again the issue. I asked for manager and she stated that he wasn’t in and that she will contact him to call me. I waited 2 days because of work schedule and ask for manager again at 11 am and he wasn’t in and continued to get the same response over and over. What makes it worse is that we had over 10 rooms taken because of no pool at another hotel. I wouldn’t recommends this hotel just because of the customer service and hotel management. There is plenty hotels around there that people can stay that might care about the customer and...
