Updated about Service 8/18: Emily was our initial Server & this was after we had waited over 10 mins seated then asked if we had a server. Emily was VERY rude & dismissive when she first approached the table. On her 2nd trip, she brought our drinks but appeared disgusted. So, I got Dylan the Manager and asked for a new Server! He sent over Courtney & she was AMAZING!!! WE LOVED COURTNEY!!! So nice & helpful!!! Emily should probably not have a job with Customers if thats her attitude. Spacious restaurant with top notch food!!! This was our 1st time here and we will most definitely be back! The tables & booths are not on top of one another, which is nice too. Highlights for us were the Pimento Cheese Balls, the Spinach Dip with Homemade Chips & the Fish 'n Chips with Homemade Tartar Sauce. The Pimento Cheese Balls were so cheesy & tasted amazing! The Spinach Dip was so good and is presented in an iron skillet. We took the last 3 spoonfuls home! LOL! It was that good! The Fish was very thick and tasty! The Homemade tartar sauce also has a flair of its own! Don't hesitate going if you haven't been here yet!

Three of us visited at 1:30pm on a Sunday and had a 20 minute wait, so it was quite busy. There was live music and the singer was good, but the volume inside made conversation difficult without shouting. Service was good with a couple of really minor hiccups, staff were friendly and helpful. Okay, on to the food. We started with the pimento cheese balls. They were really good and came with a nice hot/sweet sauce. There was a waffle brunch menu (available til 3 on Sundays); I had the Nashville hot chicken and waffles. It came with spicy fried chicken, pimento mac and cheese and pickles on a Belgian waffle. For me... all the components were good, but not necessarily together. Personal taste I guess. The pickles and mac and cheese combined with a syrupy waffle was weird and I ended up eating the savory parts separately from the sweet. My sister had the bourbon pecan peach waffle. I tried it - yum. Mom had fish and chips (she always gets fish and chips when it's available, wherever we are) and declared it good. Everything was reasonably priced. I'd go back for sure but I'd eat something different.

TLDR: The price is high, but the portions make up for it. We got the smoked sausage appetizer, the fried chicken sandwich, and a burger with fries, onion rings, and sweet rolls. The smoked sausage appetizer was great! It came with crackers, pimento cheese, pepper jelly, and other tasty compliments for the sausage. The chicken sandwich was pretty dry, and my husband really enjoyed his burger. The fries are great! Nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The onions rings are honestly overwhelming! Massive, *very* battered, and large! The sweet rolls were just Hawaiian rolls, but they're served with what tasted like garlic butter. We learned maybe share one side and skip the appetizer, and you'd be under $100 spent.

Went to Jack's Public House tonight with high hopes. The updates to the building are great. The indoor and patio dining areas appeared to be about 60% full so it was a somewhat busy night.

Bottom line up front: Poor Service Decent food, but nothing special (except the fries were very good) 3.5% fee added to your bill if you will be paying other than cash

Here are the details:

We arrived at 6:03 PM and were seated within a few minutes, but the hostess was out of menus and had no idea where more were. We waited for another 8 minutes and were greeted by our server, but she didn't know where the menus were either. We ordered drinks because the drink menu was at the table. After another 5 minutes, the server came over and said she found the menus, but they were at the bar and she was going to get them. Finally, after 20 minutes, we had menus, but still no drinks. 25 minutes in, drinks arrive. We ordered an appetizer and our meals (fried pickles, club sandwich, original cheeseburger, and two orders of chicken strips). About 15 minutes later (approx. 40 minutes since arriving), and the fried pickles arrive. These are pickle spears that are fried. Family said they were ok (I do not like pickles), but the breading didn't have much flavor. Food arrives after another 15 minutes (approx. 55 minutes since arriving) Food is decent, but not memorable. A couple minutes after the food arrives, the server comes and refills drinks and we order a second beer. We finish our meal probably 10 minutes later, but still no second beer. 5 minutes later, the server brings the beer, but we are finished with the meal (beer was ordered 15 minutes prior). We ask for the bill and she returns with in in just a couple minutes (70 minutes since arriving). In reviewing the bill, I see at the bottom there is a 3.5% (had to calculate the percentage myself) fee of the before tax total if you want to pay with anything other than cash. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. I can understand some service issues with a new restaurant, but to charge a fee for using a debit card, that was just too much. We wait another 7 minutes for her to return and take our card (no cash since we were not expecting to be paying extra with a card). 86 minutes in total in the restaurant. A bit excessive for 2 adults and 2 kids to eat a simple meal.

If it was just poor service, we would return in the future to give them another shot, but with a 3.5% fee on top of mediocre food, we will not...

This place looks great but if your not a local your put on ignor. We waited 30 minutes for a outside table when there were 6 outdoor tables open. When we did get a table, seated by the hostess, we never got a waitress. I had to flag one down and she had no idea we were there, never saw her again. When we did get someone she brought us drinks, my husband ordered at the bar not a waiterss. There was a table of 4 seated 20 minutes after we were and they had water and appetizers. We didn't even get water. This was at 7 pm on a Friday night I don't mind waiting for a table or even my food order (we nerver got to order anything) come out but I refuse to wait on service. BUT I DID SEE ALL OF THE GOLF CART DRIVERS WERE SERVED. Again if your not a local you are ignored. An hour later "our waiterss the one that delivered our drinks" did come and check on us she wanted to argue with me about if she had been by to check on us multiple times, she had not. Not sure we're this went wrong, I know you have high school kids seating customers and not a seasoned hostess or here's an idea the manager. Nothing against kids working but this is were I think the whole thing fell apart. This was our first time and our last. We also, the day before went to one of this places other locations "The Local" and the service was lacking. Again you have to be a "local" to get service or plan on...

Should have gotten the bar tenders name. Could be her that is responsible. Not sure. 10 minutes after I was sitting at the bar with 5 people present, she Finally asked me what I wanted. No introduction. I asked what was on tap (no drink menu in front of me). She literally walked off (with no comment), got on her computer and closed a tab. 5 minutes later she read what was on tab. I ordered, she brought it and asked if there was anything else. I responded that I would like a burger, but was not sure which one. Her response, "well it's right there on the menu" and said I'll be right back, I'm gonna check on my people. During this time a couple showed up and within 30 seconds (with no conversation), she had them drinks. Obviously she knew them. 20 minutes later I put 20 bucks on the bar top for my drink and left. Conclusion, 9 of 10 burgers had weird jelly on them? I didn't want peanut butter and jelly...just sayn. She was not nice at all. She walked off after a legitimate question. Served her "people" before serving others that showed up 5 minutes prior to those people. Was disrespectful by walking off directly after a question. I did not bother asking her name. She was 5'3"ish, blond and on the heavy side. Not trying to be rude. But that description is for owners...
