Ok, so my birthday was Tuesday "Valentine's Day" and I decided to have a spa day. I chose this place because the good reviews outweighed the bad ones. I walked in, and the lady at the desk asked if I had an appointment to which I stated yes, at 10 am and she immediately said Happy Birthday (I had chosen the birthday package). I smiled because I just knew I was about to walk into a room with a birthday banner and maybe a balloon or two.....but there weren't any. I noticed a female was setting up the room and didn't see a male in sight so I asked where was Steven (when I scheduled my appointment I was told that Steven would be doing my massage because I needed strong hands). The lady said that Steven wouldn't be there until 11:45 because he had to take his daughter to school. She said that all of them are trained the same so I was in good hands with the female. Then she said that the female would start and Steven would finish up as he will be there in 15 minutes (she was texting so I assume that it was Steven). So the female began, I asked if she could deem the lights to which she didn't understand what I had asked (she never deemed the lights). A few minutes in, the female stopped as someone knocked on the door, the female said "here's Steven" and then walked out. Steven started right in with the massage without saying a word. A few minutes in he asked was the pressure ok to which I said no and he advised me to let him know if it was too much. He proceeded and it was fine but when he got to my lower back he pressed down with his elbow sooo hard, he stopped that method as soon as I said "that hurts". I allowed him to finish with the massage. Then the lady came in to do my mud wrap. I asked her to deem the lights as it bothered me since I was on my back at this time but she said that they were doing construction and didn't have deeming lights. She did put a washcloth over my eyes to block the light though. After that, I showered and left. I didn't feel like I had been to the spa, you know that pampered feeling. NO ONE introduced themselves which is why I called her "the lady" and "the female". I wouldn't have known it was Steven if the female had not called out his name. It was like going to the nail salon, you pick the service, they do their thing (if there is talking, they talk amongst themselves), you pay and they're on to the next client.
I wasn't going to write a review instead I wanted to use this experience as a lesson learned. But here it is two days later and I can still feel the pain in my lower back where Steven put his elbow so I decided to share my experience. Definitely won't be back.
I gave it 2 stars because I did enjoy the mud wrap.
*In response to the owner's response: You didn't give me a gift bag. I was given a bottle of body oil (photo attached). And I've had deep tissue massages before but never felt like I had been punched afterward...either way I...
Read moreI came to this place on my one day off because I was having a bad day. I called an hour ahead to see if they had a 12 30 appointment. I spoke with the manager and she said I could come in at 12 30 for a 90 minute massage. I then called her back at 11 46 and asked if I could actually come in in advance. She told me to go ahead and head over. I arrived at the massage house to the only person in the place seeming very confused as to who I was and why I was there when I walked in for my appointment at 12. She got on the phone and had me state why I was there and my name multiple times. Then she finally seemed to register who I was and asked me to pick out lotion and go lay in the room. She told me it would be 10 minutes before someone could come in which I found strange but I changed and waited. Cut to twenty minutes later, I had to peek out of the room and ask for someone to come by. They told me to would still be several more minutes before someone could attend to my appointment because they accidentally started with someone else. At that point I told them it was unacceptable, especially my first time there, and that I was going to just go. They put me back on the phone with the manager I originally spoke to and she told me she would get a great masseuse named Steven to do it right then and there for 90 minutes on the house if I would just go lay down so I did. Then someone else, not Steven came in. Then they switched me to another female, again not Steven. When I asked where Steven was, they told me he was annoyed and went to the gym. The masseuse I had (second one) basically just pushed down on my head and neck. I told her several times I preferred deep tissue and I wanted more pressure. She couldnât do it. At that point I asked if the manager was there and that I wanted to leave. They said no and that I could leave so I did. Donât waste your time or money here. I wanted to come here because it is close to our home and wanted to find a regular place, but definitely avoid this place. It is unprofessional, disorganized, and...
Read moreI have been to Eden 3 times in the past 3 weeks. My first time I booked a full body massage, $70.00, with Mia. She was wonderful until she started to do my legs and told me, via an English speaking voice box, she couldn't do my legs, I had vericose veins. Which I do not. She did a really good massage so I booked another massage with her the following week on Monday. When I got there she was NOT there, she was off that day!! So they gave me someone else. She was very nice, but NOT very good. I made another appointment with Mia for a Monday but called to be sure Mia would be there this time only to find out she WOULD NOT she doesn't work on Monday! Why they would book me again with Mia and she doesn't work on Mondays is beyond me! So I moved my appointment to Sunday, the day before, when she would be there. Mia was wonderful, really worked my back, which was all she was allowed to do, vein issue, which does not exist. When I went to pay, they told me for a "back only massage" it would be $80.00! I was shocked! A full body is $70.00 and a Back Only would be $80.00! They only charged me the $70.00, since they had not told me about this until check out, but I left feeling frustrated. I went home and checked the "Menu" of prices. There was NOTHING on the Eden Menu about a 'back only' cost! I really liked Mia, she's excellent but I will NOT return to this Spa. And I will not recommend Eden Spa to any of my friends. So sorry to have had this experience, NOT good business.
Since posting the above review Eden Massage Spa has called me to discuss the situation that happened. After a very positive conversation the Management made things right with me, and I am satisfied at this point. I believe they will continue to provide massages with the therapist that I want and make it a good experience. Thank you for taking care of this quickly...
