Food Allergy? BEWARE!! I Really wanted to love this place, and for a split second, I did. Unfortunately, the staff do not seem knowledgeable about food allergies or how severe they can be. I was so excited to see that they had a dairy free chocolate ice cream on the menu, and asked to sample it. The girl behind the counter handed me a sample, after I repeatedly confirmed that she is giving me the dairy free ice cream. Shortly after, as we are trying to pay, the manager or owner comes out to reboot the payment system, and asks the girl/ us., what we ordered. I responded that I got the dairy free chocolate ice cream, and the girl shyly said the SUGAR FREE ice cream. My heart dropped. It took us a few minutes to discover that she indeed gave me NORMAL DAIRY ICECREAM … she did not understand the difference or how grave of a mistake she had made. Thankfully I had only eaten a single spoon of the ice cream, but it’s enough to make me very sick. I was ready to forgive the young girl’s mistake, but then the manager (maybe owner?) said it was her first time making dairy free ice cream, and half jokingly asked “how allergic are you really?” She didn’t charge us for my ice cream, and gave me the proper dairy free ice cream, but I am beyond angry at the failure to care about allergies. I am ill. A nice date with my husband, having an innocent ice cream has turned into dairy poisoning. If I’m lucky, I’ll be sick to my stomach for several days, and suffer from eczema and painful hives for 3 weeks. If I’m not, I’ll be vomiting for days and end up with gastritis for several weeks, plus the eczema and hives. I am truly disappointed, and frankly the more I think about it, the more angry I am. Do Not put dairy free ice cream on your menu and then fail to educate your employees about the dangers of ignoring people’s allergies! If I were anaphylactic, this could...
Read moreMy daughter and I visited Juke N Jive last night (December 20, 2024) at about 8:25 PM. This was our second time visiting the store, and it's always a fun experience. However, we both ordered 3 scoops of ice cream. I ordered "Pistachio, Chocolate-Peanut Butter, Red Velvet," and my daughter ordered "Creamsicle, Cotton Candy, and Cookies-n-Cream [they were put in the cup in that order]"
As we began to eat, we realized that the bottom flavors [in my cup was the Red Velvet], and [in her cup was Cookies-n-Cream] were barely there. While the ice cream was being packed in the cup, my daughter wondered how the young lady was going to fit all three flavors in equally. Well, wonder no more—she didn't.
I even turned the cup upside down into a bowl to find the missing flavors and they were simply not there, only small traces. We paid for a combined 6 scoops but only received just over 4 scoops.
We really like the parlor, but I would suggest either providing larger cups to accommodate 3-scoop orders or putting them in separate containers. No one wants to pay for something that they did not receive. Especially at that price-point.
FINAL NOTE: The Pistachio Ice Cream is "OUTSTANDING"!
Update Reply: Thanks for the reply and explanation. From what I could taste from the bottom flavor [Red Velvet], it was really good. However, the smashing down method doesn't really work for me. The flavor apparently overly incorporated into the flavor on top of it and could not get the experience that I was looking for. Next time, I will opt for a separate cup for the 3rd flavor. I definitely...
Read moreAs if it were not enough to never go back after they discontinued the adult ice cream, to find out they have also discontinued the Superman flavor that my kiddos love was almost the last straw.
The last straw actually came after I almost walked out when I found out there was no more Superman and proceeded to buy a few pints of some alternatives. It came after witnessing a man, who I believe is one of the owners, get onto the two very nice and helpful female employees that were waiting on me about something so petty that had absolutely nothing to do with customer service right in front of me, a customer, essentially slowing them down as they were trying to fulfill my order.
It is never professional to get onto an employee about anything, much less the movement of certain furniture 🙄, in front of a customer! It’s customer service 101!!! I might add that these were some of the best, most efficient, employees that have waited on us there in recent months.
Focus on the big picture, YOUR customers! Not whether or not the juke box that rarely gets used is centered with a specific sign. Ridiculous! Will...
