I waited a solid 4 months before writing this review in order to give Jess the necessary time to make it right, but after reaching out one last time with no response yet again - it is time to share my experience.
I visited Superfresh! once and loved it, loved the vibes and vegan selection. This past April there was a giveaway publicized on their social media. In order to enter, you needed to follow Superfresh on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, each follow counting as an entry to this giveaway (valued at over $100). I did so - hoping to win something cool from a restaurant I truly loved. And I was so excited that I DID INDEED WIN! It was shared in a public newsletter that I won the giveaway and that she would contact me in the upcoming days.
I never heard anything within the first week, so I reached out and at that point I heard from Jess. She asked for my mailing address and said she was packing it up that week (mid May).
By mid- July I still have not received my giveaway and NO communication as to when it would be arriving. I inquired again to Jess with the response as follows -
"Hi!!!
I am SO SORRY this has taken so long. I got stuck in quarantine overwhelm + fear of going to post office, but I'm getting over that slowly and have everything packed up and ready to send Monday 100%. I'm going to throw in some extra goodies as an apology for how long it has taken me.
So sorry again, thank-you for checking in!
J"
And unfortunately I have still never gotten the package. I reached on social media, and email. Most recently I responded to Jess's/Superfresh's newsletter on Sept 2, with no response.
Just needed to let Superfresh fans know about this. If you enter that giveaway back in April, there was most likely no intention of sending out a box. It was just a rouse to get more followers and drum up more social...
Read moreThe restaurant/cafe is quite small, only a few tables. It’s set near a beautiful stream of water that you can see outside the windows. They offer vegan, gluten free, and soy free food. Read carefully. Their food is all of the above and not one option or another. They have quite a nice selection if you are looking for smaller portion that are plant-based. The dressings and dipping sauces are delicious. The food are not too greasy and are made in the small kitchen right behind the counter. My experience with the server is super pleasant. She’s very nice and honest about the food. We got a latte, an energy shot sort of drink, an order of oven-“fried” French fries, a potato hash that comes with a small salad (good salad too with arugula and baby spinach and no ice berg thank god), and a “mushroom burger” that also comes with a salad. Everything was good for my boyfriend who is a vegan. I thought so too saved for the burger. It was a bean burger based with mushroom mixed into it. I, personally, wouldn’t call it a mushroom burger since it’s a little misleading. I was expecting a marinated portobella mushroom cap grilled on a bun. The bun was gluten free, so with all gluten free buns, they are dense and dry but it was very nutritional with tons of seeds. Lastly, the portion and pricing are not what I would be expecting. The portions are quite small with the price that they charge. Our food came out to $60 with tips. Oh and for my Asians and kimchi-enthusiasts out there, they don’t have real kimchi, more so a variant or interpretation of it. I would suggest that they season their food a bit more. A little lack luster...
Read moreThe squash soup & the golden goddess smoothie were delicious... and the servers were friendly when they eventually came to our table (after we'd been sitting for 30min, and someone in our party had gone up twice to check and see if a server could take our order).
However, they were out of practically everything that me and my work colleagues tried to order. Once we had our order in--- a server came back to our table THREE separate times to let us know that they were out of an additional component or ingredient, so the order was changed again, or a substitution was made. The flavors for the rest of the order were definitely a miss: the rooftop garden sandwich, the mushroom burger, and the gratitude bowl. They were out of nori, kale, avocado, tomatoes, bread, and a couple of other things--including clean glasses. Someone in our party of 3 grabbed the last one, and it was about 45min before the remaining two were able to get a clean glass. We arrived at half past noon.
I'm willing to grant that the lack of certain ingredients probably impacted the taste of our final dishes--- and like I said, the squash soup & the golden goddess smoothie were delicious. The restaurant and restroom were clean. However, I can't understand how they could have been out of so many things so early in the day; the food was woefully overpriced for what we received, and service speed was abysmal. On top of everything else, they couldn't...
