Frankie's Wok — Restaurant in Brecksville

I won't be ordering for this place again. Called in a pickup order at 5:34pm, the person said 30 or 35 minutes for the order. I took a phone call and was late getting there at 6:25. I hadn't been in before and there were people waiting. I stood there for a while, wasn't greeted or acknowledged and went over to the side. Another person, an older white guy, came in after me- he was greeted and let the person know his order number, which is the last 4 of your phone number. Info I didn't know. So the counter person took this guys info before mine, then I spoke up and said check on xxxx, my phone number. Essentially, old white guys are more important and he cut in front of me. They only produce orders when you arrive, regardless of when the order was placed. I received my order at approximately 6:45, and hour and 10 minutes after it was placed and long overdue the promised 35 minutes. 2 entrees and a big soup was over $40. Expensive for mediocre food. Chip things for the hot and sour soup were stale, soup was ok. My black pepper chicken was good but definitely not spicy. His emperor chicken, also a "hot/spicy" dish, was not good. Fortune cookies are stale. I literally could have driven to phoenix express in stow, or downtown Cleveland, and gotten much better food at a better price. The time spent isn't...

Love this place. This restaurant is a great staple in a cozy corner of Brecksville. I watched a customer walk in and pick up his food and the lady behind the counter (co-owner) knew him by name and needed little information to send him off in good shape. She said, "see you next Wednesday." I asked if he was a weekly customer and she confirmed my thought and proceeded to tell me how many weekly customers she had and said she has been here 20 years. She said she has customers that remember her son coloring in the corner while she worked the counter, and now he's a sophomore in college. I watched her husband/co-owner make my food fresh and box it in front of me. It was fantastic and each time we go back, the food is great every time. At first I was a little surprised that there were no printed menus and the one owner said I had to go to their website. She finally gave me an older menu to look at. During check out I was asked where I was from since the owner said she knew all of her customers like family. Just told her I was in the area and had always wanted root try their restaurant. She had mentioned they have been in business for 29 years! The food was very good quality and hope I can make another visit soon.
