Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Brick Township

On Wednesday January 1, my partner & I walked into this Applebees. We waited around for 5 minutes in the front waiting to see if a hostess would come, or if we were supposed to seat ourselves. It wasn’t crowded and there wasn’t a sign anywhere stating to wait for a hostess. When someone finally noticed us, an employee that was pointed to go to us (which I would later figure out was the hostess), walks to us and is just staring at us, looking confused and saying nothing... for way too long. So my boyfriend says “just us 2 please”. She continues to look as us weirdly as if we are out of our minds, or from a different planet, not greeting us and continuing this utterly insane nasty face- so I ask her politely “are we supposed to seat ourselves at Applebees, or wait for a hostess?” I haven’t been to an Applebees in over a decade, and since this lady walked up to us like this after, I thought it was a valid question. She proceeded to give us an attitude and say “I’m your hostess…”, so I repeat what I was asking as she’s still standing there looking confused. She finally walked us to a table & then asks if I’ve ever been to an Applebees, continuing her insane attitude- but I politely let her know I haven’t been to one in over 12 years. We sit down and she tells me the steps that will happen next, in a condescending tone, as if I’ve never eaten at a restaurant before. When she walked away I was baffled, shocked at this treatment, & questioning if we should just leave before a waiter got to us, but we stayed. I didn’t get this hostesses’ name, but it was around 9pm. She has long red hair and a dark complexion. I do not know what was wrong with her, but I’ve never been treated like that at a restaurant in my life, and I won’t be eating at Applebees ever again… the vibe she had was extremely negative, hateful, and miserable and left us confused...

I've eaten at Applebee's many times, and I have never been disappointed. Their menu is impressive given the variety of deals and specialty drinks they offer throughout all seasons. You can truly find some of the most unique drinks here, which really sets them apart from their competitors. For example, their "$1 zombie drink" or "breaking bad cocktail" are drinks you wouldn't find anywhere else in the area. The gummy brain inside the zombie drink is really the cherry on top! They have truly outdone themselves with these cocktails. Furthermore, their half price apps never disappoint. $8 boneless wings cooked to perfection every time. Talk about value! The boneless wings are some of, if not the best in Brick. Always super crispy and the wing sauces are perfectly balanced. Best honey-BBQ sauce! Lastly, their chicken finger platter is very palatable. Paired with their honey mustard, they have me over the moon satisfied every time. Perfect crispiness on the tenders. Clearly a high-quality batter. Also, the seasoning on the fries is delicious! The only area of improvement I would point out would be wait times for a table. I once waited well over an hour to be seated with some friends, despite plenty of tables being empty. So, wait times can be a bit inconsistent. But at the end of the day, I walk out of Applebee's a new man. Their amazing deals and consistent food quality keep me...

The worst restaurant experience I ever had. Applebees is usually a nice go to place for food its always descent but when I took my daughter for her birthday on 01/02/2020 it was everything but that, waitress totally ignored us had other wait staff bring my salad over had no dressing at all had to wait 20 before my waitress brought me over a tiny cup of ranch then disappeared again waited another 45 min for wings that were not cooked all the way so they had to be sent back finally manager comes over to table after 15 min apologizes for the inconvenience and begins to tell me that sometimes chicken is red like that in the middle doesnt mean its raw WTH thank you but no thank you sir now still no waitress to ask when our food would be coming out we waited another 30-40 min for our food so basically we sat there for almost 2 hrs before we actually ate anything smh was very disappointed because I really liked applebees won't be going back I give 1 star because my daughter loved the 3 cheese...
