I went for the first time last Friday. Despite the fact that I had read an awful review on the biscuits and gravy (my favorite), I decided to try it I would have given it a 5 that day as it was delicious...actually the best ever. I also ordered the cinnamon bun French toast, which was awesome!!! I brought some of that home. I liked it so much, I brought a close friend back a week later to try it. This time, my rating went from 5 to 2. That is why I averaged them at 3. First of all, you have to go according to the menu. I wanted an omelet with a side of biscuits and gravy. That was not possible unless you bought both dishes instead of upgrading the 2 eggs to an omelet with a small up charge. There are no real combos if eggs and pancakes or omelets unless you did poached eggs. Ok, so I stuck with the biscuits and gravy as I had liked it so much, but decided to add 2 sausage links which you are allowed to do. I don't know what happened in the 1 week period, but it went from the best thing ever to disgusting. I now saw what the other reviewer had seen, not nearly enough gravy to even cover the biscuit. I asked for more gravy and was told there would be an up charge. I asked for the manager. She also mentioned the up charge. I explained that I had been there the previous week and this was no where near what I had, so she agreed to bring the gravy no charge. I also complained that the 2 sausage links were partially uncooked. She took them back to replace them, amazingly without an up charge!!! The waitress then brought the extra gravy, which was no more than milk poured in a bowl with several pieces of sausage! It was disgusting, but since I didn't want to complain further, I mixed it the other gravy and ate it, but it was nasty. I cut into the sausage links, which were well done on the outside, but again partially uncooked on the inside!!! The second link was cooked correctly. I again told the manager and she said she addressed it with the cook. Very definitely disappointed with my second trip there and may hesitate to return. If you are looking for interesting, dessert like french toast or pancakes, this is your place, but definitely not for biscuits and gravy with sausage!! Also both visits the coffee was...
Read moreWe went here on a sunday morning for brunch. The line was out the door. They use a tablet to check you in and you can track your status on your phone. There are nearby stores to go in while you wait. The waiting area is small and seating is limited. The wait extended well past the estimated time. They do not take reservations. Walk in only.
Once seated you can see just how new the resturant was. The dining area is cute and cozy. There is a coffee bar with baristas making fresh drinks. There is an area to sit at the bar. We ordered multiple styles of cappuccinos, The consensus was overly sweet with use of good coffee.
We ordered two styles of French toast to start. Meemom’s and Banana bread. The banana bread was fresh banana bread cooked like French toast topped with slices of half a banana. Extremely tasty. Like having dessert for breakfast. Meemoms is traditional, Cinnamon, powered sugar etc. The French toast is THICK. Some spots had an abundant amount of cinnamon. The only downfall is the dull knives making for a difficult slice.
We ordered the biscuits and gravy and biscuit benny. The biscuit benny is served with potato slices and a side of seasoning. A biscuit cut in half on each a thick slice of Canadian bacon and a poached egg. Egg were cooked well with easy yolks inside. The seasoning added looks like a cajun blend but is almost sweet. This dish was flavorful and worth it. The biscuits and gravy is served with two garlic cheese biscuits. The cheddar flavor is prominent on them and makes the dish unique. There was just one scoop of sausage gravy. On the side was two eggs cooked your way. I would pass on this in the future as other local places specialize in biscuits and gravy. The side order of bacon was thick, big and tasty. Cooked perfectly.
Our server, Samantha, was sweet, energetic and efficient.
I'm interested in coming...
Read moreFood is good, but worse service ever, they just look unprofessional wearing whatever they want, no normal service outfits, they look like patrons so can't even figure out who to ask if you need something. Been there 3 times and it's been such an ordeal every time, have only gone back because I chalked it up to a bad day there and it's been on the way home for me, but always have to wait ahile to be greeted by a server and waited at least 10 mins last time just to be greeted and handed a menu while she talked to everybody and I guess people she knew much longer than she should have with people waiting. Couldnt even ask for a coffee or glass of water after the initial wait, I tried but was told no, she'd be back which took another 15 mins or so, no multi's either, one table order at a time, then disappear again to chit chat. And I don't need to hear about covid and short staffed, etc, this is the only place I go to that's like this. They need a mgr with their eyes open cracking the whip a little, everybody at tables around me had their heads looking around for service, people around me who were already seated when i got there were just starting to or still waiting to place orders, the place isnt humongous or anything. Some people may have a lot of patience with nothing to do all day but I don't need bfast to wipe out half my morning, I'm not their with a church group looking to camp out and chat for hours. Food is good and I will do pickup or grubhub, etc, but never going there to eat again. Go up the road a half mile to Turning Point, it's like night and day as far as service and how a place is run efficiently and...
