I have been going to this Texas Roadhouse regularly for about 2 years now. When I say regularly; I mean I was a regular who sat in the same spot at the bar, visited multiple times a week sometimes and knew everyone who works here. A second mother to me (whom I met before she worked here of course) works at this location as a host.
I would order my steak "blue rare" every time I went in; which became a topic of conversation between the bartenders and kitchen because they didn't cook it correctly. At first they thought this was funny because they would type in 30 seconds on each side; after a year of regular visits, my steak still couldn't get cooked correctly. Finally one night, I had enough and spoke up for myself since this was a repeated problem.
Well that night sealed the deal between myself, family and friends who visit this location. After speaking up about my how my steak wasn't cooked correctly, I asked for a new one. A second one came out which was not cooked correctly and then a third before I finally said, "I will just have a piece of chicken". My boyfriend and I sat there waiting patiently, 15 minutes and still no chicken. By this point, I had enough and told them to cancel my food. My boyfriend had eaten his meal and I still sat there waiting, finally leaving without eating.
After I spoke up, the manager (Nicole) approached us and said "this is the last time we are covering your meal because you are costing Bry (Bryanna, the Owner) too much money and she is losing money on your steaks. I looked at Nicole and told her, this is the only time you've covered my steak since I've been coming in here. My boyfriend then said, "are you telling us this is a place we only come for drinks then?" Nicole looked at him and said "yes, that is what it is!".
This all took place because I stated my steak was not cooked right, not because I yelled at someone or I got upset about something and caused a scene....ALL BECAUSE TEXAS ROADHOUSE COULDN'T COOK MY STEAK PROPERLY. The Owner (Bryanna) couldn't even accept responsibility for sending out incorrectly cooked steaks, instead blamed me as the customer for her lack of training staff and herself.
Needless to say, my boyfriend, family and friends will not return to this location because of the way the management staff chose to treat us...
Read moreI don’t go to Texas Roadhouse often—maybe once every few years—so when my daughter picked it for her birthday dinner, I had forgotten how lively (and yes, a little chaotic) it feels.
Service & Atmosphere: The staff was fantastic! Every single one of them was friendly, upbeat, and attentive. I truly enjoyed watching my daughter turn red in the face when they asked her to get up and sit on a saddle so they could do a birthday announcement to the restaurant-bwahahaha! We had a party of six, plus an infant in a car seat and a toddler in a highchair. The staff happily moved us from our originally assigned table to one that was more comfortable, which we appreciated. That said, I think larger parties would be better off at freestanding tables instead of corner booths—it was a hassle scooting people in and out anytime someone needed to step away.
The food... from my family's response was great. I'm still mad that I let my husband talk me into getting the catfish in a restaurant that's known for their steaks. I think he thought he'd have his steak and eat the fish too. It was just okay: the coating lacked flavor and the sauce was a bit too tangy. I added shrimp for a little extra, and those were actually pretty good. For sides, I had loaded mashed potatoes and loaded mac and cheese. The potatoes were surprisingly bland, even with bacon and cheese on top, and the mac and cheese was decent but nothing to write home about.
But those ROLLS AND BUTTER! Amazing everytime. Soft buttery rolls with sweet cinnamon butter- heavenly! And I finally tried the cactus blossom appetizer—crispy, flavorful, and definitely worth it.
Two of the kids went with burgers and were happy. My daughter enjoyed a mocktail, and they treated her to a complimentary birthday dessert (a brownie, I think) that disappeared in seconds. My husband and son both ordered steaks (the right call), and smothered them with mushrooms—no complaints from either of them.
The bathrooms were clean, and they have a family restroom with a changing table—super helpful when dining with little ones.
Final thoughts: a bit pricey, so I’d call it a special-occasion place. If you go, order the steak (don’t let your spouse talk you into catfish!) and do your best not to fill up on those amazing rolls...
Read moreToday, my wife, 10 year old and I enjoyed Texas Roadhouse again and I feel compelled to share my experience. We went for a late lunch at approximately 1:30pm. The hostess advised us it would be a 10-20 minute wait and got my telephone number stating a text would come when our table was ready. Approximately 30-40 minutes later, we discovered similar sized parties were being seated and I received no text.
We checked with the hostess who stated they sent us a text sometime ago. I checked my telephone and no text ever came, but they were quick to find us a table. We sat in Michal's section and he was an awesome waiter. He got our drink and food order at the same time. My wife, a veteran and I ordered Chicken fried steaks. Our child ordered a kids meal. We had a coupon for a free veterans meal which they gave my wife on veterans day as well as a kids meal which we received at a different time. It was no questions asked and both were taken even though we were not sure both would be.
It was an awesome meal and awesome service. The manager checked in with us toward the end of our meal and we told her about the early issue as well as Michal's service. She took down my name and telephone number to look into what happened. I expected that to be the end of it.
Approximately 10 minutes later, she came back and advised me the hostess mixed up 2 of my last 4 digits on my telephone number. She apologized and comped my meal for the issues which made our entire lunch no charge. This was not something I expected or asked for, but it was something they did anyway. We tipped our waiter handsomely.
Also, while we were there, I heard the table next to me had a single complaint about her food being too "salty" and requested something else. The wait staff corrected that issue and comped her a portion of her bill leaving them satisfied from what I saw and overheard.
As always, I love our Brighton Texas Roadhouse and strongly recommend them to anyone. I have visited there numerous times and had few complaints. The few I have had, have been corrected way above my expectations. I love the care they share for me as an everyday person as well as the love they show...
