BBQ is the genre of food I know the best. I’ve had pulled pork in Memphis, brisket from Lockhart, Ribs from St. Louis, and Burnt ends from Kansas City and so much more. I was even a pit master for 4 years. I love it, and I’m so happy to have a half way decent place in Bristol finally frequent.
The atmosphere is awesome, with a river delta blues theme of old Guitars and Blues festivals posters on the walls and Blues music playing through, just sets a ton that puts you in the bbq mood. It just feels right.
We and my companion both got samplers plates so we where able to try quite a bit, so I’ll hit the key points
•Pulled Pork: Good smoke, very flavorful, perfectly cooked. •Brisket: More great flavor with a thick smoke ring, a little dry but it’s hard to keep brisket moist. •Ribs: Fantastic, not over cooked, decent smoke, Rub was a little too sweet for my liking, worth a try. •Chicken: Sweet, moist, decent, not the star but not bad at all. • Smoked sausage: Good, nothing to separate it from anyone else’s. • Green Beans: Fantastic, packed for of smoky flavor. •Beans: It’s like Bushes with more pepper. • Home Fries: golden, crispy, delicious.
-Sauces •House sauce: Decent tomato based red sauce, sweeter than I like, but good flavor. •S Carolina Gold: Pre-made distributer sauce. Not tangy enough. Disappointed •Spicy: Ummmmmm why? Take the house sauce, double the brown sugar and molasses then add Cheyenne. The worst of them. •East Carolina: I don’t usually love this kind, but Deltas was actually decent. Good job.
Overall while Delta Blues wasn’t my favorite BBQ I’ve ever been, it’s a solid contender. Definitely the best in Bristol. Can’t wait to come back for...

I am not a barbecue connoisseur, in fact it's historically been one of my least favorite food groups, but Delta changed everything. Whatever they do to their ribs, they need nothing else on them. No sauce. Perfection.
Also, the addition of Cajun Tuesdays is wonderful. We splurged and tried pretty much everything. Frog legs, alligator, catfish, crayfish, it's all good.
This place is a gem, and hands down one of, if not THE, best restaurants in Bristol.
Ate there for the first time today. Was not disapointed. The building has been beautifully renovated. Tried the blue cheese burger, baked beans, chips, and mac n cheese. Everything was delicious. My fiance can be a picky eater, and he was in love with the food. The memphis burger did it for him. Pulled pork bbq on a burger.
Macaroni had a white cheese base, and it was probably the best in town that I've had. Burger was well seasoned, and the blue cheese melted into a sauce basically and was equally delicious.
The baked beans had a really good seasoning in them, and the chips are house made! The table caddies had different styles of bbq sauce for different tastes. I thought that was nice!
The sweet tea is brown sugar water, as it should be.
All in all, a great addition to downtown! We...
Read moreSo I don't like doing this but we had lots of problems. To start out, we were trying to order online, and the website wasn't working, so we called. The lady who answered the phone got our order in even though they dident habe so meats. Then before we could tell her that we wanted to have it ready at 8 instead of as soon as posible she put to order in ands asked us if we could pick it up early. We siad no and promptly were put on hold for 5 to 10 minutes to fix it. After that, she just hung up the phone before we were able to pay (and we didn't want to pay at resterant do too other people picking it up). Once we got their no one came to help us, and we had to get 1 of the 3 women standing there doing nothing. Next the order wasn't even done until 8:30 they put in the food after we had arrived. Made the trip back and opened up the food to find all but one order was messed up. Most of us ordered 2 or 3 meat trays with 3 different meats and only got ribs, no short ends or chicken. One of our people ordered corn for a side and got fries. Some of the rids were pretty dry and the corn tasted like it had been sitting a while is the bottom of the pan. The food was OK but could have been of a much...
