This hidden gem is located on the Boston University campus more close to the gas station, a Target and a new restaurant called Ziggy’s. They do sell boba but I want to take a moment to show appreciation to their macarons. My personal favorite is the fruity cereal. As you can see, look how pretty it looks and taking a bite it is sweet, satisfying and it just makes you happy. I know for me it made me happy. I believe they do buy it from a third party but it is delicious and worth it. If you look at my first picture they do display their pricing and to be upfront it does show “Buy 5 and get one free” however they do not ring it up like that and ring it up as you bought a total of six macarons. So for me, I could argue if I wanted to but I learned for myself that I’m willing to pay all six and the rest of their flavors (vanilla, birthday cake (both a pink & blue)) are tasty and satisfying. I have tried the dark chocolate macaron and it was okay. If you are one of those people that enjoys dark chocolate but want a subtle sweetness then that one is for you. I have tried their Italian soda (the lemon one to be exact) and it was delicious as well. If you want a “healthy option” they do offer Italian soda and their flavors. On the last picture you can see their drinks, pricing and boba options. My daughter and I enjoy this boba shop and it is welcoming and warm atmosphere. I just wished this establishment was more closer to home but I’m...
Read moreSo happy there's a Boba Tea & Snow Ice location closer to me now. I only tried another one of their locations (Chelsea) for the first time a little over a week ago because a friend brought me there. I was really impressed with how perfectly soft and slightly chewy they make their boba tapioca pearls. They sweeten their boba a little bit more than other places, which I actually like, because then I get to add less sugar to the tea itself. I usually go 1/4 amount of sugar or (for this store) it's "30% sweet".
I have not tried one of their snow ice drinks yet as I don't usually like super cold stuff but I did have a sip of my friend's avocado snow ice drink and it had a super lovely smooth texture. The drink was 0% sweetened but tasted perfectly lightly sweetened because of how sweet their boba is already - the sweetness blended together with the whole drink really well.
I don't usually leave reviews on places but after going to this location (Amory St in Brookline off of Comm Ave near BU) I feel that it needs a boost. The place was empty but I feel that tons of BU students would love this place. Especially as they serve snow ice -- boba+snow ice places are super rare in the Boston area as it is -- and come summer time this place could be very popular.
Highly recommend....
Read moreVery disappointed with my experience here.
I ordered the brown sugar milk tea and first, the online ordering isn’t streamlined at all. Who puts the extra toppings before normal toppings-it’s not intuitive. I asked if I could add boba to my drink and was willing to pay, but the man refused. I asked if I could get boba on the side and he said no again. The lack of understanding and flexibility was frustrating.
As for the drink itself, it had no tea flavor and was overpriced for the small size you get. It didn’t help that the establishment smelled like BO as well.
I will not be back as this visit was extremely...
