Myself and good friend came to Grainne O'mally's, expecting for a nice Irish pub, good food and good beer. We came Sunday night, at 8:55 PM. The place was clean and had a nice environment, and there were around 30-40 people watching a New England Pats game. At exactly 9:00 PM our waitress came and declare that the kitchen is actually CLOSED. At 9:00 PM. With 30-40 costumers in the place. We could not believe it! She was of course very nice but explained to us that for some arbitrary reason, on Sundays and Mondays the kitchen closes at 9:00 PM, despite the fact that this made absolutely no sense, since the place was still pretty packed. That really hurt our time at the Omally's. We drank some vey nice beers and still had fun but it would have been much much nicer if we could have something on the side to chew on. I think 9:00 PM is a very reasonable time to still serving food. Personally I might come to the place again but my friend told me that the place is "burned" as far as he concerned and he would never go...

I've been coming to Grainne O'Malley's off and on for quite a while now. It's an excellent place for a drink or a meal. They've got a number of TVs if sports is your thing, but not so many it overwhelms the place. The food is very good and it's evident that care is taken in its preparation and presentation. The service is consistently solid, friendly, and attentive. The store is always neat and clean. The woman who runs it is just about always there (the owner maybe?) and her care and attention to detail is evident. Oftentimes they've got live music and they have a very boisterous trivia night (OK, that one is too loud for me).
There are a number of good vegetarian options on the menu. Some items, like the Irish Nachos, are easily modified to be vegetarian as well.
It's the kind of pub you want in your...
Read moreDon't know what Dice is talking about. The menu is not generic or standard Irish/English pub fare. Sure there is fish and chips and shepherds pie but there are many other options available that aren't pub food like the horseradish crusted salmon or the corned beef and cabbage croquettes or the tuna tartare or the pirate pie or the grilled steak tips (yeah that's everything we ordered) and they're all delicious. The drink list is great also. Lots of nice IPA's and craft beers and the cocktails are delicious as well. As for the "clean" glasses we saw a glass washing machine behind the bar being used regularly by the bartender all night long. Not one glass went into the dish machine in the back. Maybe Dice L was just having a bad day and needed something to complain about but this place is fantastic. ...
