Most days that I go to this Caribou I enjoy my experience very much. There are two staff in particular who always make my day, one young man, and one young woman, I don't have names I am sorry. However, this past 10/6/18 Saturday at 2pm I had the worst experience I have ever had at any food business in my entire life. I went through the drive thru and ordered a medium iced Americano and when I went up to the window the nice woman said " large iced americano". I nicely replied " oh, I ordered a medium but that is okay! (:". Not even five seconds later, an older woman stuck her head out the window and yelled " actually you DID order a large, you said grande". My jaw dropped and I hesitantly said.. " oh .. I guess grande means medium at Starbucks but". The older woman interrupted me and said " well I don't work for Starbucks I work for Caribou!". I was so shocked at how rude she was for no reason, I wasn't mad about my drink being a large, I was not rude, I just wanted to pay and get my coffee. However the worker CONTINUED to prove her case that I ordered a large and that everything was my fault, when ONCE again I was not mad about my drink being a large. She then said " you said grande and in Spanish grande means large". Her tone of voice towards me was as if I was 5 years old. At this point I am furious because she was being over the top rude for no reason, and not even making any sense, my order was in English so why would I randomly say my size in Spanish? Also, if she wants to go that far, maybe she should be clarifying sizes before submitting an order. One other co-worker was laughing in the background too at this whole ordeal, almost as if the staff was amused at treating customers this way. The one younger girl taking my payment seemed super uncomfortable and didn't say much. Long story short, a situation that was such a minor size mistake, was not an issue for me in the slightest! But the older lady that took my order needed to prove a point, talk down to me and completely ruin my mood for the day. I go to Caribou to brighten my day and get my daily dose of caffeine. I had just worked an overnight and chose Caribou over the other chains to buy my caffeine that day, similar to most other days. Once I finally payed and got my drink I then proceeded to call the store to complain to the manager. Each time I called no one answered, I called three times. Finally I called again and they said the manager stepped out and I could call back, when I did there was no answer. Unfortunately, the lady who was being so rude to me, I believe is the manager. ( I am not sure, because I did not see a name tag during the incident ). I hesitated to make this complaint because I have no issue with the rest of the staff. I also have worked at Caribou before at the 49th 1/2 location in Edina about 3 years ago. Prior to that I worked at Starbucks. So I know how demanding a barista job is. However, this woman was so rude and demeaning that I had to say something. I ended up calling corporate and still haven't heard back. After telling some friends about my experience as well, and explained who the woman was, one of them said they have had a similar experience at this location. They knew exactly who I was talking about. I hate to be this person to call someone out, but I have never had a worse customer service experience. Some action needs to be taken at this location because this is unacceptable. Starbucks is Caribou's number one competitor, maybe your job description doesn't make workers study Starbucks size chart, but I know I am not the only one who has used Starbucks sizes when ordering at Caribou by accident. Always clarify as staff at Caribou, small, medium, or large. And, if a customer is not complaining and is just going along with the order ( like I was), don't pick a fight with them. I will never go back to this location. It is a shame that I felt so humiliated and disrespected that I have now spent over two hours between making calls, and writing a review because of one extremely...
Read moreOut of all the Caribou Coffee reviews I've done, this is my local jewel store. I've got a coffee addiction and I come here almost every day. I have a Caribou closer to my house that I actually drive past to get to this spot because that one is so bad and this one is so good. The order is always spot on, it's done exactly right every time and they are always nice people to talk to.
I used to work at the Caribou Coffee in the MSP airport, so I know how to make a drink, but now being a customer, and one that spends WAY too much money on Caribou Coffee, I expect something for the price and I get it here. I expect consistency. I want what I want, I want it to taste the same and I want to order something and be able to drive away without having to second guess if they did it right. This is why I drive past another Caribou to come to this spot.
Even through several staff changes (I've been coming to this spot for over 6 years now) they never let me down. I don't know if it's the owner, manager or what, but someone that is high up at this location has trained their staff very well and has kept the service at a high level.
To any present and past employees of this Caribou Coffee location, you are wonderful people. To anyone looking for a new coffee spot, you can trust this location to be a good one. If you were to make this spot the text book on Caribou Coffee franchise locations, you would have made a great choice.
Clean inside and out, they keep up with the store, improving it as needed, fantastic staff, well calibrated machines and nice easy to get to spot.
Pro tip: If you come and it's busy, you want to go up the last lane of parking before the lot ends for the line and not through the parking lot road, just an...
Read moreUsually a good stop... I always order a mocha and a bagel toasted with cream cheese. However, this morning the employee refused to cut the bagel, because they just came from the oven and were still a little soft for the bagel cutter. This is not the first time Iâve been told this, and I totally get it. The bagel cutter would just smash it...BUT... there are other ways to cut a bagel, and a resolution has always happened. The gal the previous morning went and got a knife and sliced it perfectly... not this time! I even offered to grab a plastic knife cut it for her... I would even come in and help. Thatâs what I would have to do after receiving the bagel anyway. And ya gotta toast a bagel or ya canât hardly bite through it. She wouldnât let me cut it and hand it back (which I kind of understand... maybe a health code thing) and refused to do it herself. At this point Iâm trying to reason with why sheâd rather spend the time arguing over simply cutting a bagel, than just simply cutting the bagel. Or we can work together to cut the darn thing... She says âa policy is a policyâ. Sheâs screaming across the girl ringing me up in the drive through. I said âwhat policy?â... then she reached over the other girl, slammed the window and walked away. You could tell the young gal ringing me up was embarrassed. Is there a policy that says a bagel cutter is the only way a bagel is...
