MISSION BBQ — Restaurant in Brunswick

I had only ever had mission BBQ at a wedding. I was in last year and it was phenomenal. That is why my partner and I had a dinner date here earlier in the summer. It was a wonderful experience when we dined in. The meet platters were phenomenal. We met the owner of this location and he welcomed us back with a free sandwich card. While out in Brunswick today we decided to finally the sandwich card. The experience this time was definitely more of a lasting impression with such a stark contrast in service, and I can say we will not be back. The lady who greeted us and took our order was wonderful and kind but the man who I believe is another type of manager was RUDE. It was as if our free sandwiches were such an inconvenience to him.( Though I did purchase additional sides and a drink that didn't matter.) Getting sauce was an issue and we are made to seem like we were stealing it when my fiance was picking which one he wanted from the table and then when I tried to get silverware was told with an attitude "I already put it in the bag for you" but yet there was no silverware in the bag when I got to my location. We were told the sandwich already had sauce on it as well when we were saying we wanted more sauce. I don't think I need to explain to a worker why I want more sauce for my food or justify it. Just give me what I ask for?? Just seems like service is not the same when the owner is not around and that to me is telling of an...

Ya’ll…OMGoodness….we had this for the first time last night. We ordered the take out bag for 5 (2 meat choices, 2 side choices, choice of a bread, bottle of bbq sauce of your choice). On top of that, I ended up getting a smaller sample of each bbq sauce that they offered, only because we have never been there before. Oh, and a half order of ribs for or middle child because she loves ribs :)

We got chopped brisket and pulled pork, and it was amazing! The mac & cheese was also delicious. Tue baked beans….with brisket cooked in with it…..my goodness!

It’s difficult to choose a favorite of the bbq sauces, we really enjoyed sampling all of them, and I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. The small samples were free, which I was surprised, I would easily pay a small price to try them all.

As soon as I got out of the car….the smell…so good…

When you walk in the restaurant….I love atmosphere.

What I really like if they went through everything with me before they put it in the bag for me to take home. Love that!

Would highly, highly recommend this place. We all sat around the table at dinner as a family, couldn’t ask for anything better than...

My partner and I visited yesterday for the first time. From outside, it looked kind of packed but despite the look, it was pretty calm atmosphere and lots of spots to sit in.

The lady at the front was very kind and explained how ordering worked and everything on the menu throughly.

The portion was a bit small with the Meat Sampler (so makes sense why it was small). Brisket was amazing with the juicy cut I chose. Ribs was, as advertised, fall of the bone and tender. My partner prefers larger portions of food and the chicken was perfect.

A lovely woman, who I assume was the manager, came by and spoke to us made sure everything was nice, got what we needed and explained their 6 (wow) different bbq sauces they provide at the tables. I also noticed she checks in a chatted with other tables, which was nice to see and felt more welcomed in. As my partner and I were finishing up, she actually gave a free tray of fries and wanted us to try their Freedom Fries before we left, which were great.
