Nothing Bundt Cakes — Restaurant in Burlington

I have ordered many times from this place. I placed an order through Door Dash because I didn't know that they delivered themselves. This was a gift for someone. Door Dash put my name on it. I called and chatted with Door Dash to try and get the name changed. I placed the order 4 days early . They were foreign and said they couldn't change the name, so basically I was sending a gift to myself. I called Nothing Bundt Cakes and told the girl on the phone the situation. She put a young manager on the phone. I asked her could she leave a note with the order, that it was for the person it was supposed to go to. She said she couldn't see it in the computer and wouldn't leave a note for 4 days later. I asked her did they deliver. She said yes. I asked her their prices and it was alot higher than Door Dash. She was rude and very unprofessional. How hard is it for a manager to make a note? She absolutely refused. The Cakes are good and very expensive, but make a nice birthday surprise. I purchased a dozen of the bundtinis (which I have done on several occasions). I have noticed that the icing has changed and does not travel well. The reason for my review the bundtinis were to go to a nursing facility for a patients birthday. I live an hour away, rode home in the ac. By the time I got home, icing was everywhere. I had to go to the food lion and purchase cupcakes after I spent $28.00 in Nothing Bundt Cakes. I called and spoke to the manager. She says for me to bring the bundtinis in so that she can see them. I purchased these on a Saturday and had to call on a Monday (because this location hours are different from most). I get to work before they open, and I get off after they close, and I live an hour away (what a solution). After reading other reviews that say that the icing has changed, you know there is a problem. An expensive problem. I enjoy Nothing Bundt Cakes but not the Burlington location. We are disappointed by poor communication from this establishment. We ordered a cake well in advance, paid a hefty $20 delivery fee, and expected it to arrive at our friend's doorstep on their birthday.

On the first attempt, the delivery person left a voicemail asking us to come pick up the cake from the shop. On the second attempt the next day, the cake failed to arrive again. This time, my friend mentioned that they didn't even receive a call from the shop to inform them of the issue. Note that my friend doesn't have issues with other deliveries like Uber Eats. For an important occasion like a birthday, you'd expect more from a cake shop.

They also haven't provided any alternatives other than coming to the other end of the city, and picking it up (friend doesn't have access to a car). Neither do they want to give another delivery attempt or offer...
