I have emailed GameStop 3 times about the same issue, and GameStop has done nothing to resolve it or help in anyway. Fantastic customer service (sarcasm). GameStop’s rewards program and the app for redeeming points is an absolute joke. Multiple times I have tried to redeem rewards for online $ certificates. However, the app consistently tells me that “something went wrong” and simply will not let me transition the points into redeemable gift certificates. When the app finally does let me transition the rewards into gift certificates, it will not let me do it en masse and instead forces me to do it in smaller increments which is an incredible pain in to then try and redeem those certificates. Best of all (and most insulting from GameStop!), I was not able to redeem my points until AFTER the black Friday sales had been lifted. I cannot tell you how angry I am with GameStop and what a travesty this is in customer appreciation. I finally managed to redeem the stupid points and when I try to actually purchase something the system is telling me that the code has already been redeemed (which was less than 2 minutes old) or does not qualify for the items in my cart (a simple switch game). I dropped over $500 on a gaming system in November and paid the extra money for the rewards program which is just a freaking joke. I was not able to redeem them when I needed to, I could not make the purchase I wanted to during the Black Friday sales, and, once I had redeemed them, I’m not even able to use the online gift certificates successfully on the app. I have emailed about this issue now three separate times, and this is my last time. The associate that was due to get off step back in to assist Carlos instead of him helping the people in the line he confronted him as to why he got back on the clock. Then picked up the phone to take a call. Meanwhile the line got longer (instead of him asking them to hold) about a trade in. We waited patiently (others in the line started to leave). Once he finally got to us he didn't provide any helpful assistance he was to busy asking us why we were no longer pro members. Which I have already had this conversation with customer service prior to our membership ending. We had been members since 2016 but the service online and this service experience reminded me exactly why I didn't fight to renew. Carlos could benefit from some professional development training and how to deal with customers who are in front of him before he stays on the phone loosing business that is right in front of him. To the man who stayed and help (sorry Carlos didn't appreciate your assistance)...We were hoping to get you because of the type of service you were providing. "Big man"Josh was so helpful two weeks ago when he made sure I got a warranty on my PS5. I, the skeptic, rolled my eyes and he the nice employee he was he simply smiled. 3 days later my PS5 was a brick. It was replaced in a single transaction no charge what so ever. l then ran into a issue with a pre owned game, again not this mans fault that's a product issue, I came in and was able to pay the difference for a brand-new version of the game not only that but this man made sure i was getting the coupons, discounts, ECT. Just for the inconvenience to me. On top of all that his attention to detail with where the receipt and stickers went after the purchase made sure I didn't forget the receipt for next time. Oh did I mention how he didn't hassle me over a receipt?
