Little Italy Pizza & Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Burlington

I really wish I could give 5 stars! I love the food here it is amazing. The have the best deep dish pizza in NC. I get food from here 2 or 3 times a month. That being said again wish it could be 5 stars, the service is terrible. I regularly get takeout and it is never ready in the time frame they say it will be ready is. Okay, I can deal with that it wouldn't bug me except you walk in and go to the counter for takeout and you will stand there for at least 5 min before anyone even acknowledges your there. Then they will just say "be with you in a minute." Another 5 min later they will tell you your good will be ready in a little bit it's still cooking. It's really confusing. I showed up when you said the food will be ready waited 10 min till you talk with me and it still needs more time?!?!?! Okay I can still deal the food is worth it! When you finally have an employee actually interact with you they act like you have somehow burdened them with your patronage. They act super annoyed that you would actually show up and pick up you food. The hosts who see you to your seats or greet you at the door are nice enough and I've never interacted with the kitchen staff, but the servers and the people who handle takeout our are so so rude. I will probably still go here from time to time. As I said the deep dish is the best I can find near me and I want to support local businesses, but I will start going there less. Food 5 stars. Service 1/2 star. Go there for the food and stay because it's good, however be prepared to be treated like you are annoying for...

My husband and I dined at Little Italy for dinner last night. Even though they were pretty busy, the service and food was phenomenal. We ordered the appetizer special, which were fried zucchini sticks...they were pretty tasty, but stayed very hot for a long time. There was so many, we ended up bringing some home. We chose chicken parmasean as our entrée's with angel hair pasta. My husband requested meat sauce on his. I really appreciated that everything came out at perfectly timed intervals...I hate when all your food comes out at one time. The chicken parmasean was absolutely delicious. We didn't have to add any seasoning to it, except for a little parmasean cheese and there was plenty of sauce for the pasta, also...I hate when they don't put enough sauce on the side of pasta. It came with 2 chicken breasts, which were perfectly crispy. We both ate 1 chicken breast and some pasta and ended up bringing the rest home. At the end of our meal, the cashier had noticed that we were waiting to get some to go containers for our leftovers, so he came right out and brought us everything we needed. We were very impressed by the teamwork from the whole staff. Everyone was very helpful and polite. The reason for the deduction of 1 star was because we were seated right at the cash register, which wasn't ideal. I honestly think they should take that table out to give more space for the cashier area. We will definitely be back and can't wait to try more...

The food was good, but nothing to write home about. I will say the bread is fantastic, so they nailed that. If you're looking for a quick filling meal, I'd give it a try. There were some things that I found odd, like endless soup bowls that were on the menu, but not offered on the weekends......I mean this is when people go out to eat the most so it should be called out. Additionally my brother tried to use a coupon (the point of which is to get people to come to your restaurant) and was told that they also do not honor them on the weekend. That policy may have changed, but it should be called out on the coupon, again, this is when people go out to eat. This place gets busy, which is great, but when asking for a refill and waiting for a while, the server should not use that as the go to excuse. No real issue there, just an opportunity to get better, as that is not the customer's issue. Just apologize and call it a day. lastly I find it a bit odd that in some of the reviews the response is defensive. I understand that there really may be people out there trying to target or smear a business with a bad name, but for the most part, it is people honestly describing their experience. Reviews whether good or bad should be taken as an opportunity to exploit clear strengths and work on areas that could be improved upon. Its what turns good businesses in to great businesses. I'd...
