I am leaving this review to reflect the poor customer service I received from a cashier at this store yesterday. We were visiting the area when I decided to run in to pick up a few snacks and household items. Everyone on the floor was helpful and polite; however that was not the case at the front register. The young woman who rang up my items seemed disoriented and confused and proceeded to take the last three items she had set aside to bag up and rescan them. I pointed out that she had done this and I received a âNo I didnâtâ reply. I then calmly asked her to review her entries, and received a firm âI DIDNâT SCAN ANYTHING TWICE!â reply from herâŚto which I replied, âOK, but when I get my paper receipt it will show that you did, what will you do then?â She replied, âI didnât, but if I did then I will give you your money back!â So, I scanned my card, got my receipt, and proceeded to show her what she had done. She looked at the receipt and said, âThese items donât even have the same codes so I know I didnât scan them twice.â At which point I took my items out of the bag and counted them in front of her, again being polite and calm. I showed her that she charged me for 14 items, but I only had 11, at which point she snapped âMâAM, I KNOW HOW TO DO MY JOB!!!â Realizing where this was going I simply asked for a full refund and told her I would try to purchase the items again later. At that point she rescanned the items and then told me the amount didnât add up to the amount on my receipt (mind you this had all taken place right there in front of her, I didnât leave and come back.) I explained that was because she scanned the last three items twice, and again she replied, âNO, I DIDNâT!â It was at that point she called her manager for help, thankfully. The manager was very polite when I explained what had happened. She refunded my charge and asked if I would like to purchase again, I replied that I would try again later. I am leaving this review, because I realized the Manager was not present for the early stages of this interaction and I thought it should be known that it would probably be best if this employee did not function in a Customer Service capacity at this...
   Read moreThe newer TJ Maxx in Burlington NC was amazing when I first walked in. The store is much bigger than the previous location. After I actually got into the store I found it to be the same overcrowded mess. The isles and racks are packed in so tight you are barely able to get one buggy down a isle. The round rack clothing sections are so tight you knock cloths off trying to make it thru. For someone with claustrophobia or prone to panic attacks it's a nightmare! I was unable to enjoy my shopping experience due to the over packed, squeezed in isles. The "only plus about the store" was the checkout area that was set up better with more registers...but they were still using 3 checkouts like in their previous location. There are some decent deals. The furniture items (very few) were cheap made and way, way over priced. The clothing was squeezed in and even though at a reduced price was over priced for irregular made and closeouts. Like I said at the beginning when I first walked in my reaction was "wow"...and when I walked out my reaction was "wow, thank goodness I'm out of there and not going back".    Read moreUsually pleasant. I donât come here often as I only come when Iâm passing through town. And this location has good stuff. I Wanted a purse that needed unlocked. Found a worker who was putting purses away and asked her for help to get the purse. She proceeded to try and school me as to where the buttons are to âpush for assistanceâ and when I told her thatâs what I did and it doesnât work she proceeded to continue trying to prove her point and tell me there is another one I could search for and find even though she is actively putting purses away on the rack. In all that time spent trying to prove her point that I should have gone on an scavenger hunt for a help button, she could have just unlocked the purse and brought it to the front for me me.
