In 1963, my parents—both social workers and champions of equality—chose to exchange his-and-her rings at their wedding. My mother secretly had my father’s ring custom-made in Manhattan, featuring a family diamond from her dad's grandmother.

Years later, seconds after Dad's passing, Mom placed that ring on my hand, hoping I would wear it until I would pass it on to my nephew when I died. I wore it every day for eight years. After my mother’s recent death, and recalling how much she admired Emigh Jewelry’s craftsmanship through their YouTube videos, I realized I wanted my nephew to enjoy the ring now, while we can still share stories together.

While traveling for work, I made a seven-hour trip to Emigh in Butler, PA, and entrusted them with my priceless heirloom. They created a stunning replica using a lab-grown diamond to honor my parents’ commitment to social justice, treating me not as a distant customer but like a dear neighbor.

I am thrilled with the results—the craftsmanship, care, and patience Emigh showed throughout made this emotional transition a joyful one. My nephew will soon wear his grandfather’s ring, and thanks to Emigh, its story will live on for generations.

They walked me through each step and answered all my questions. Their service was very prompt and communication was clear on creating the ring. The quality is unmatched.
