We went to Dairy Queen last night since we were in town to just get some ice cream and something quick to eat. We went inside to get our food to go since it seemed a little less busy inside (there were maybe 6 people sitting inside at tables and from what we saw, maybe 3 cars in the drive through). While we were in there waiting, there were a lot of young workers doing their jobs and working very hard including the two we seemed to have the most interactions with. The young girl who took our order and a young guy who was starting to clean up for the night. The guy was being very aggressive with everything he was doing and loudly complaining about his job as he was doing it. Not just complaining even but saying something’s he shouldn’t be like “I don’t have a day off in three days because my boss hates me. She makes me want to off myself” (something along the lines, I can’t remember word for word). Definitely not something that should be said out loud, let alone when around customers. The young girl was talking to him during most the time we were in there waiting for our food. When I had first ordered food I had asked for extra ranch because I ordered cheese curds. The girl heard me say that I assumed as she acknowledged me when I said EXTRA ranch please. When we finally got our food, opened the bag, no ranch at all. So we’re standing there waiting, we finally got her attention and asked, “hey can we get some ranch?” She looked mildly annoyed as she turned around it seemed like she rolled her eyes to go get the ranch. Could be totally wrong but I’m just saying what I saw. Not sure what the problem was there since she forgot to give me any at all in the first place after I asked for extra originally. So I guess between these 2 young employees it just made the experience not so enjoyable. We did enjoy the food and we will always enjoy Dairy Queen but maybe these younger employees need to be kept a better eye on while they’re working. I have so much respect for teenagers and young adults who are still in school with a job. It is very hard for them and their busy schedules. I do understand too (I’ve seen and read the sign posted right up front at the register, which I LOVE by the way) that they are teenagers and this is their first job for some of them and that they are trying their best. I absolutely understand that and we were in no way disrespectful to them, weren’t rude to them, we were patient and understanding since they seemed to be busy. We showed up at 9pm even though I knew they closed at 9:30pm we still went as well as a lot of other people did too that night, even showing up while we were leaving 10-15 minutes later. I understand how frustrating that all could be for these employees. BUT the unprofessional comments and attitude from some of the employees was really not needed. If this is your first job, I’m sorry you’re having a rough night, but in the end we’re all still humans. Just be a little nicer to people and maybe watch what you’re...
Read moreWorst experience I’ve ever had in over 35years of coming into different Dairy Queen’s across the country. Hanna, hands down, demonstrated the worse customer service and customer experience I’ve ever seen or experienced anywhere! Her management skills are nonexistent and attitude towards her employees and customers (the door dasher before me, myself and the couple that was behind me) are absolutely awful and unacceptable to say the least. Her lack of leadership and respect for anyone(including herself, she should feel ashamed) are lead examples of how someone should not behave in public much less a place of business. I hope that the upper management, owners and corporate all realize how unfit of a person she is for the role she is in much less an employee in general. I’m in management and have been in leadership positions for over 20 years and could never imagine treating myself, an employee or a customer in the same way she has. She must’ve lived a quite privileged life to feel comfortable behaving the way she does. Her attitude and behavior are enough to incite violence in the most peaceful of people. I hope that someday she learns to curve her attitude and realize that she is not special. The young man Tyler, was a outstanding example of a employee and customer service ambassador. He is a better candidate for management that she will ever be and he stated he had just started. He even had to apologize on her behalf, attempted to correct the situation(within his ability) and do everything he could to make it right which she prevented from happening. The world and DW needs more Tyler and less Hanna. If I could have given 0 stars for her and 5 for him I would. I surely know I will not be returning to the Cañon city Dairy Queen anytime soon and will be recommending the some to the people...
Read moreThis particular DQ gets my orders wrong a lot of the time and when I call it has to be within a certain time from when I placed my order or they won't give me the time of day. They expect you to call directly after. Customer service is very poor especially the head manager/ GM that runs the place. I have never had a good experience with the GM. She is rude, disrespectful, and definitely does not follow the costumers always right. In fact to her the customer is never right. I once called the morning after getting a blizzard that did not have what I ordered in it. Someone picked up the phone and said they couldn't help because they weren't a manager. They then put me on hold inbetween EACH question about my order so they could talk to the manager instead of letting me talk to them. After a while of this bouncing back and forth to be the middle person I finally got a manager. This manager happen to be the Head manager/ GM, Maggie that runs the place. She was VERY rude and began to interrogate me on why I didn't call after it happened. It was late at night and they were going to close like an hour after I got my blizzard. When I call should NOT be a problem when I have a receipt. She argued with me about how she doesn't know they actually made a mistake. Then she went back to how I need to call directly after or they will not be remaking anything. If they mess up an order they treat it like it's not their fault and dont even apologize for the mistake. I stopped eating here for a long while and forgot the reason but, one day decided to try it because I was joining some people I knew. Now I remember why I stopped. Won't be here again. Very unprofessional and unpleasant. This is a...
