I had my first experience at Freddy's.
I give 5 Stars for this section. First let me describe the restaurant. It has an American Diner vibe and the music playing is a nice pick of popular modern songs. It has an open style kitchen and very clean sitting area. This place reminds me very much of an In 'n Out Burger. I love how cold they keep it, obviously for the custard they sell, but it is very welcoming on a hot day to retreat inside. The only downside I see is that outdoor dining is quite lack luster. The outside is just...meh.
I give 4.5 Stars for this section: For the service and experience, the cashier was very polite and walked me through the menu since it was my first time. I didnt feel intimidated by the food menu. The custard menu was the opposite, however. I still dont understand what 'Concrete' means. I didnt know i could have additional toppings. Ordering their custards is like the first time ordering a Subway or Blimpie's. You ask, "What do I do...how does this work...what is that?" Their actual dining menu is easy to follow but you need to make sure to ask what comes on the food. My daughter had the California Burger, we asked because we didnt know and had the avacodos removed. When your order is ready they call your number, it is loud and clear so that is a plus. What else is great is that you can order your whole meal and ask for the custard at the end, after you eat your meal. That is very good since I dont want a melted ice cream sitting on the table as I am eating my burger.
I give 4.5 Stars for this section. The food experience. I had the double steak burger (Menu #2 or 3, i think) with fries. The fries and simple salted fries, they are like shoestring potato fries. I didnt see if they were hand cut like at In 'n Out. They had a nice crisp outside and soft inside but they arent as large as their competitors. They are nice and firm, not dangly or floppy. If Mcdonald's fries are 'S' tier and Burger King fries are 'F' tier, then these would be a solid 'A' tier. As for my burger, it was a steak smash burger. It was a bit dry and I couldnt tell if there was any seasoning on the meat. The American mustard complimented the burger meat amazingly well. I also loved the mustard flavor with the toppings. I was able to taste all the ingredients, nothing was overpowering. The bun didnt get soggy over time, nor was it too big or small for the burger. When I bit into it, the filling didnt explode out the back and fall everywhere. It is a clean burger through and through. Every bite was right. I did go back and order the same meal a few days later and the consistancy was spot on. I would recommend their Onion Rings. Just wish the portion was bigger. I also got the Brownie Concrete Sundae. That thing is amazing. I cannot find a flaw with it. It wasnt too sweet or have too much fudge or not enough. Everything on it was just right, in flavor, texture, and in amount. If your burger experience is ever disappointing, this treat will make up for it.
I havent tried the Drive thru, so I cant comment on the wait time and that experience.
Would I recommend this place? 100%. Is this the best fast food burger in Cabot? You try it and...
Read moreUpdate: Was contacted by Scott Rutstein about my order and poor experience who offered to replace my food. After a few emails back and forth, he stopped responding, and I never got the replacement/refund. I returned a few days later and order the same meal, and had similar problems. The cheese curds were not full and below the weight that Scott told me comes with every order.
Original:
The employee taking my order was great—very well-spoken and helpful, which made a positive first impression. Unfortunately, the rest of the visit had some downsides. The drive-thru was much slower than I expected. With only three cars ahead of me, the wait time per vehicle was about five minutes, which added up quickly.
As for the food, the burger was solid—I’m a big fan of a good smash burger. However, I was a little surprised to find that the bun was just as smashed as the patty, which wasn’t exactly what I had in mind. I’m guessing recent changes in packaging might be the cause, possibly due to inflation.
The most disappointing part, though, was the cheese curds. In this area, only a few places offer them, and Freddy’s usually competes for the best. But this time, it fell short. I paid an extra $2.00 to upgrade from fries to cheese curds, and I expected a full container. Unfortunately, the portion was lacking. This was the first time I’ve had this issue, but it made me second-guess my choice...
Read moreFOOD: I f**king LOVE IT. It's delicious, their curds are transcendent 💕❤️🔥, their custard is AMAZING, they have WAFFLE CONES as an option, and they have a range of toppings. I always get the Grilled Chicken(You can get it Fried too) sandwich, but my partner says the Steakburger is great☆☆☆☆☆.
SERVICE: There's a drive-thru option but I like going inside. The ladies there are always so sweet. Most of the gentlemen are in the back cooking (you can see a lot of the cook space which I really like). They gently call out your order number on a PA system(no confusion or mix-ups(your order number is on your receipt and they tell you it once you order))
ATMOSPHERE: LOVELY. It's like a calm little retro shake shop except no jukebox. There are even little factoids about Freddy and his life in frames near all the booths, I find them interesting and cute. I feel a good way to describe it is, I'd feel comfortable if I were 14yrs old and if I were 90yrs old. (I'm 22) It's never too loud or crowded when I go. It's just a cute calm quiet sit down💖
PRICE: I think it's really good. I usually spend $12-$15 by myself, because I get a meal (Large everything(especiallycurds)), waffle cone custard, and sometimes extra curds♡♡♡ (check their menu for proper pricing)
