I really wanted to give them a good review but I just can't. I don't know if I just showed up on a bad day or what, but there was little to praise about. The young man with the glasses who took our order was great, he had exceptional manners and seemed to grasp the concept of service. As for the rest of the crew, everyone seemed to be resentful, or angry, or really spaced out. There were 2 ladies who seemed to be the leaders and it appeared that they were trying to do a good job but instead of delegating and steering the ship they were stressfully trying to do everything themselves. The food took way too long to be served, especially when you consider that there were only 3 tables occupied. I ordered a burger with cheese and jalapenos, and a side of onion rings. The onion rings were substantially overcooked and I felt like the volume was lacking also. The burger was a mixed bag, they were generous with the jalapenos, but they were stingy with the meat. It looked like someone had just vaguely thrown all the ingredients in the general direction of the basket without any concern for a properly assembled sandwich. It tasted good, nice and greasy how I like it 😋, but not good enough to overcome all of the other failures of the place. There were more employees on duty than there were customers and yet they couldn't seem to efficiently handle anything. It has great potential though, if the management figures out how to run a burger joint and hire the...
Read moreI'd really say it was maybe 3.75 stars. There are two sets of doors to get inside so not exactly wheel chair friendly, good handicap parking and a decent sized parking lot. Everything was very clean inside, tables and benches were wiped down, counters were clean. A+ for that.
Food: I ordered the French onion steak burger that was advertised as a special. As you can see from my picture, it looks nothing like the image they show (and not because of added sauce.. sheer size). I did have lettuce and tomato added to mine but that should have made it look even bigger. The price wasn't much extra than a regular steak burger but I feel I would have gotten a better value by simply ordering a burger and adding things. The bacon they spared was shaved so thin they could have just kept it and the fried onions were pretty nonexistent as well. The grilled onions were great. Cheese sauce isn't very good, chili was good, bbq sauce is great, and they have 2 fry sauces. We were asked if we wanted a large order of fries and we went with the regular size. That's a LOT of fries. My picture is our single order of fries AFTER two people enjoyed them. Soda options are Pepsi products and tea.
Service: very polite and patient counter person and great guy in the kitchen. We asked for a few mods (lettuce, tomato, no pickle, ketchup only, etc) and everything was exactly as requested and incredibly fast.
I'd eat there again but I don't think I'd go out of my...
Read moreSome tips before the review: Ask for them to blend your concrete (frozen custard blended with toppings) extra deep so the toppings go all the way down. Otherwise it'll only be mixed into the top ½ of the cup. Otherwise it's freaking amazing.
Order the veggie burger so it's fairly well done. The vegetarian patty looks darker I think and the less experienced cooking staff might think it's done cooking when it's not. I've gotten one that was mushy and undercooked once. Just communicate that you'd like them to cook it just a little more so it's not underdone.
(Yes, the restaurant ought to already be doing tip #1 and #2 without you having to ask. But there's a labor shortage now, people are gonna be less trained. It sucks but that's the reality. It's worth just taking a moment to politely communicate. They're not perfect but they're really great about accommodating you.)
Get the app so you can collect and use points. You're nuts if you don't get the app. Just don't try to figure out how to use it while you're standing in line to order.
The review: Excellent frozen custard and a pleasant, clean interior with a colorful semi-industrial touch of 50's nostalgia. I haven't eaten chicken for 35 years -- but when I'm at Freddy's I order it. It's served hot, super crispy, quality ingredients, and made really well every time...
