I really wanted to love this place, but I will probably have to give it another shot. Love dogs and love what they’re trying to do here. Nothing disastrous happened - maybe I just happened to come on a training day or something - but… here’s my experience:
We waited well over 30 minutes to be seated (party of 2, no location preference, first available). That would ordinarily be fine by me, but 15 of those minutes were spent standing in the parking lot looking at at least half a dozen open tables - some inside and some outside. No other large parties were waiting with us. Fewer parties than the amount of tables/seats open were waiting. In other words, 4 parties waiting. 6 or so tables open. All other tables had been served as far as I could tell so I don’t think the kitchen was catching up. All I know is we were waiting… I just don’t know why.
We were then asked to confirm our party’s name (thinking we would be seated) and then we waited another 5-10 minutes looking at the open tables. potential idea: Waypoint Cafe hands out little cups of coffee for everyone waiting in their VERY long breakfast lines to help ease their guests through the wait. It keeps people very happy. Maybe implement this customer service tactic here?
Once we were seated, our waitress was peppy, friendly, and informative. This place seems to be doing a good job of giving young locals the opportunity to gain experience and income. Awesome.
She let us know a few things were not available on the menu. Again - usually fine by me - but the thing we tried to order (Carne Asada Tots) also ended up not being available after we ordered. No big deal. We revised our order, but my concern is that this happened 3-ish hours before close. I think the kitchen needs to be better-stocked.
Overall, platings were very pretty, food was pretty good, nobody was rude, things were clean. There’s just some logistical stuff that needs...
Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews and am hoping we hit this place on an off day for them. We visited Aug 21 and waited half an hour for our food. Half of our order sat on the counter for 10 minutes so was cold when it did get to the table. The waiter was busy chatting with other tables and didn't take notice until we flagged him down to complain.
On top of the wait for the food, and half of the orders being stone cold, the hygiene of the place was not ok during this time of covid. Non of the staff were wearing masks, the food was arriving from the kitchen on a counter that was face level with the servers who were standing there talking over the food (without a mask o-: ), tables were not wiped with disinfectant between customers (just a wet bar rag), the condiments (ketchup etc.) on the tables had not been wiped (yuck), and the wait staff were bussing tables by holding glasses with their fingers inside the glasses, in contact with the edges people had been drinking from, and then taking food from the counter directly to peoples tables holding the edges of the plates in contact with eating surfaces and lastly, there was not a bottle of hand sanitizer anywhere.
Am hoping our experience was not the norm, but if anyone else has had similar take note and find...
Read moreIf they had less than 1 star for Braxton’s Kitchen I would have rated them lower, The restaurant was cold, the waitress acted like she didn’t want to be there! We were there for breakfast & this was the worst breakfast we have ever had in our 64 year’s of being married! The coffee was cold, the pancakes were cold, the sausage was not fully cooked & had an awful taste, the biscuit, which didn’t look like a biscuit was more like a hamburger bun than a biscuit, the gravy tasted so bad that I couldn’t eat it, the bacon wasn’t fully cooked (which I ordered well done) our granddaughter had the breakfast burrito & she said it was just OK. Very poor service (even tho I have to admit there was only One waitress working!) We paid $69.84 for 3 terrible breakfasts!!!! What a waste of money. Our Granddaughter looked Braxton’s Kitchen up on line & read about the company & was happy that a portion of their profits goes to animal rescue, but it doesn’t make up for poor service & inferior food! They will have no repeat business,...
