After going around Harvard Square looking for a college-budget worthy place and showing up with nada my friend mentioned Pinocchio's.
We ended up going on the weekend after lunch, so there wasn't a long line at the time. There was a deal where you can get 2 slices of pizza for I think around $6. . . anyone can completely comment and correct me if I'm wrong.
While taking in this small cozy place I noticed their pizza slices where Sicilian!! ^O^ That means a nice thick rectangular crust. I decided to try their sausage and chicken pesto. Since this place is known more for a place that's open 24/7 and draws in the late-night crowd my expectations of the pizza was pretty moderate. I thought greasy-eek pizza to absorb a night's worth of drinking.
Well when I took the first bite of the chicken pesto I was convinced it's more than a pizza for those late nights. The crust was the right amount of dense where it wasn't too much crust, like a lighter dense crust. . . doesn't make sense maybe but read that a few times and you'll start connecting dots or what not. The sauce was amazing and the toppings were pretty good.
I seriously could have ate half a sheet by myself. The sauce on the sausage reminded me of the time I made marinara sauce from scratch. It was a great taste of tang with the mellow flavor of the cheese. Overall, whatever the cost was, it was well worth the price.
NOTE: Street metered parking around the area. It sometimes can be difficult to...
Read moreHe guys! I ordered two medium cheese pizzas from this place today and decided to wait at the restaurant. The exact time was 7:38 PM. Now, as you know, around 7:30 PM is usually a rush hour for any restaurant. especially in a busy spot like Harvard Square.
To be fair, I didn’t even order anything complicated. just two M plain cheese pizzas. In the kitchen, there were two insider working. One of them, the shorter guy, was working non-stop and clearly doing his best. The other one, taller, was the one stretching the dough, placing it on trays, and adding toppings. But honestly, he was way too relaxed for how packed the place was.
He had his phone propped up in front of him with a whole setup going on, casually watching a soccer game while working. Not gonna lie, it caught me off guard. I get it, it’s not my workplace, but the place was absolutely slammed. There were people everywhere, and somehow it still took until 8:25 PM for my two simple cheese pizzas to be ready.
Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but I just wanted to share the experience. My gut tells me this guy might be the owner’s son or something 😁otherwise, I can’t imagine how someone could act that chill during peak hours. And if he is the owner’s son, well… not exactly a promising look for the future of the place, if you ask me....
Read moreRude staff with a passive aggressive attitude problem. Dined in with my family, and my Dad (allergic to meat) very nicely, double checked if the pizza was vegetarian, as he wasn’t sure. A bald man (maybe owner or manager) rudely responded: “No, yours has extra meat. How many times do you want us to confirm that’s it’s vegetarian. We washed everything and even cut it with a separate knife.” My father was taken aback, because he is always super respectful, and just responded “thank you, thank you” to defuse the situation. Totally unwarranted and very disrespectful to bark at my older father in front of his whole family. Can only assume this bald man owner/manager does not give a damn about respecting paying clients because he thinks his shop is special bc Zuckerberg ate here once or twice lol. Guy needs to be taught some respect. Maybe someone should bark at him in front of his wife and kids to show him how it feels. Get real mate - your manchild attitude towards paying customers is not required nor appreciated, and would get you closed up very quickly in any other state. Also the pizza was half burnt - we should’ve asked for a refund, but believe in respecting small businesses, even if no respect is...
