So I was a regular at this Texas Roadhouse for several months. I came in close to every week if not every other, and ordered the same meal every single time. Mostly they get it perfect DEPENDING on who’s behind the grill. But today, that all changed. My mother and I ordered a medium and medium-well sirloin. Both came back well-done. We decided to just send them back for new ones. The second time around my mother’s was still overcooked and mine was still slightly undercooked. By this time my mother decided she was done reordering and just got the steak taken off the tab. Me however, I decided to give them a third chance since I was so often a regular there & maybe they were having an off day. Third time around the owner James delivers my steak & was very cold about my reaction to it. It was cooked medium for the most part, some still rare but i decided maybe I should keep it anyway. James however gave me an attitude stating “there’s only one medium temperature” basically insinuating I don’t know anything about steak temperatures. He even spoke to my mother in a condescending & sarcastic tone when she stated there were in fact more than one medium temperature a steak can be cooked, his response was “good job” as if he believed someone as “simple” as her could understand steak temps. So after that comment I decided I would not be keeping my steak or eating at all for that matter. Well when he returns he states that he’ll take it off the tab THIS TIME but there’s only one way to cook medium steak. He then proceeds to argue with me and my mother about it while finishing off with the comment of how we should just go to another Texas Roadhouse. I’m actually disgusted that as a regular customer that spends her hard earned money QUITE OFTEN there, is not only never greeted by ANY manager besides lovely chastity, but was also spoken to in a disrespectful manner, and I feel i know the exact reason why I'm treated differently. I even WORKED there in previous years. I only came there for those bartenders TEDI and COURTNEY they are lovely girls and they deserve every one of my tips. Hopefully I'll see them again when they go work for...
Read moreTexas Roadhouse in Camden had some positive aspects, but overall, our experience left much to be desired.
Pros:
• The staff were friendly and helpful. • Our waitress was very kind, sweet, and brought everything we asked for, even if it took some time. • The appetizer order was taken quickly, and we were served enough hot rolls for everyone. • The restaurant was well-stocked, and nothing we ordered was unavailable. • They were quick to bring out additional biscuits, and the staff offered warmer sides when our meals were returned for being undercooked. • The food was tasty, even if it wasn’t able to be thoroughly enjoyed.
Cons:
• Despite calling ahead for seating for eight, we were initially given a table for six. The seating arrangement was cramped and uncomfortable, even after adding two barstools. • Those seated on the corners had little to no table space whatsoever. We did our best by stacking dirty plates and placing them on the ledge behind the booth seat next to us, which remained empty during our visit. • There were significant delays in receiving our drinks, even simple ones like water, despite the bar being only half full. • Our table quickly became cluttered with dirty plates and empty cups, which were not cleared away in a timely manner. I had to stack them myself just to make room for our food. • Three of the four steaks ordered had to be sent back for being severely undercooked. Unfortunately, we had to ask other staff members to address this as our waitress didn’t come by until we were nearly done with our meal. • The re-cooked meals came out one at a time, making the dining experience feel stagnant, with some food getting cold while others were still waiting for theirs. • After finishing our meal, we waited 25-30 minutes for to-go boxes, which added to our frustration.
While the staff did their best to address our concerns, the overall experience was disappointing, especially given the issues with seating, service speed, and food preparation. Our waitress was very pleasant and may have been newer to serving, but the delays and lack of attention left us...
Read moreArrived at Scheduled time, was seated right away. We were rushed right by the Steak Choices, never once ask if we wanted one of the choices. The Waitress was being shadowed by a new Waiter in training. She was pleasant and nice, she took our order and brought us butter for the bread that was no longer warm, because the same person who wisk us past the steak choices, also failed to grab butter for our bread.
I ordered the Beef Tips (rare) mashed and fries with gravey, My GF ordered the bbq chicken and loaded baked potato for both her sides. It took it took some time for the food to finally come out, and my Tips looked great, problem was they was barely warm along with the mashed potatos. My GF"s food was very hot. My GF brought my foods tempature to the new Waiters attention, he in turn went and got a nanager. The Manager came over.
She ask me what the problem was, I explained my food was barely warm at best. She ask me if I wanted another plate, I said sure, she took. Again it took a while for me to get my food again, it was hot the second time out, ONE PROBLEM, this time the tips were NOT rare they were more on the medium well side. At this point I was pretty frustrated, I ate the tips and mashed potatos.
The waitress came over and ask if everything was better the 2nd plate, I explained it wasnt and why. She apologized walked away brought our check to the table. Was charged full price for a meal that was full of hurdles just to end up wrong anyhow. Not even offering to remove my soda or knock a couple $$ off the total.
Bottom line they lost a customer simply because, when the bottom line at an establishment becomes more important than the customers they need to keep it open. Before long that bottom line isn't the line waiting to get in building, it's the phone line trying to get unemployment due to...
