I booked pizza a'fetta for my wedding on Jan 31, 2020 and put my deposit down for my wedding. After that we emailed back and forth asking questions, such as what does the on site service include, would it be possible to pick it up ourselves, etc. When I first booked them we had 60 guest, then it jumped to 73 and the owner, James, said that wouldn't be a problem. He suggested 2 slices for person, but we wanted to do 3 slices per person. Again he said that was fine. I told him that I wanted to pick up the pizzas and not do the onsite service so I asked if the $200 fee regarding the onsite service be taken off my quote. The next email I received from him was on February 19 and he said that we will not be catering my wedding because our order was too large and would have to shut down the restaurant and to call and get my deposit back. I emailed him back asking if he would be comfortable doing less pizza and stick to the 2 slices per person, I even offered to pay for the onsite catering fee as well if that would help him not back out of my wedding. He then didn't reply for two days and replied with the same exact email about dropping out of my wedding. I called him directly and asked what was going on and he said when someone ask this many questions it never works out, so we are not doing your wedding. He then went on to lie and say that I questioned paying for food, gratuity and labor and none of that is true. I did asked to not pay for the onsite labor charge, since I would be picking up the pizzas myself and no one would be serving food, but I have no problem paying for food and gratuity. He then went on to talk down to me and say that he has been in the catering business for a long time and that this many questions is a bad sign to him. I then said that I have never been married before and I believe I am asking normal questions from my caterer? He continued to talk down to me and said that my deposit would be refunded first thing in the morning, so the next day, a Saturday I called to make sure that I was receiving my refund and left a voicemail. I called again on Monday and no one answered and no one called me back. Then Tuesday I had to call from a friends phone who had an Oregon area code, because my number is not from Oregon, and James finally answered my call. This whole situation is unprofessional and wrong. I felt that I asked a normal amount of questions especially with me planning a wedding for the first time and living out of state where my only communication is from email or phone calls. I guess I just expect some type of understanding from the owners side, that someone from out state wants to make sure that everything is in place for her wedding day since the only face to face interaction will be on the day of the wedding. He pulled out of my wedding two and half months before and now I have to find...
Read moreHands-down the best pizza slice place in town.
We've been coming here for 20 years. Initially, it was because it was the most budget-friendly place for a single parent with two kids who loved pizza... and because they had the best pepperoni slices and triple cheese slices in town.
Pro tip: We've learned to ask for them to keep it in the oven just a little longer so the crust could come out extra crisp...and then the kids would sprinkle so much Parmesan and chili peppers that it looked like a happy snow storm. It's just pure happiness when you pick up your slice from the side window, find a seat in the courtyard area, then bite into that pizza slice as the cheese oozes off. Something about the triple cheese and the herbs they use makes it the best cheese pizza around.
This weekend, bc we came to celebrate 20 years of coming to Cannon Beach together as a family, and we were treating friends, we decided to splurge by ordering the extra large 18-inch pepperoni pizza to go. They gave us the plates we made sure there was plenty of Parmesan and chili on it and that pizza didn't last very long. We realized pretty quickly we could've ordered two pies bc they tasted so good. We sat out outside and finished off the whole pie in 10 minutes flat.
Then last night for the first time in years the kids and I actually decided to eat in the restaurant because it was raining pretty hard out… and the patio wasn't going to be a tenable option. Server was great and she was quick. We ordered the A'fetta Salad and the Greek Salad. about $11-$12 each -- the ingredients were fresh and the Greek salad came happily loaded with feta cheese while the other salad was well loaded with the different meats and peppers and tomatoes. We recommend the A'fetta Salad if you are hungry.
Then came the pizza slices -- and they were in the oven just a little longer to make the crispy the way we like them and we inhaled the slices in just a few minutes. We were probably out of there in less than 30 minutes which suited us since we had plans and the tab was around $40. Once again a serious gift for our humble family budget.
Service was friendly, attentive, and prompt. It is our tradition to pick up a slice on our way out of town because it's a comfort food when you have to leave one of your...
Read moreThis place was really good. Food is delicious. A special shout out to that smoked chicken salad with the peppercorn ranch. What a great starter. Several pizzas to choose from. Some pizzas are available by the slice. Ordering a pie (whole pizza) there is an even larger selection. We got the Molta Carne 14” which is sliced into 8 sections and has some very delicious meat selections for toppings. The tomato sauce was seasoned very well. Seating is limited but it appeared the majority of the business we observed is either walk up for a slice or carry out from people ordering ahead. We dined in and Jordana waited on us and everybody else. We did observe a second person who appeared to be supporting kitchen and the dining room basically wherever she was needed. Good teamwork. There is only about 5-6 tables with seating up to 20 guests maybe more on the interior depending on how they are arranged. They do have outdoor seating as well. Jordana got us a table inside in under 5 minutes and checked on us throughout the meal and made sure everything went well. Our salads came out in the first 5 minutes of our order being taken and the pizza followed about 15 minutes later. With such limited seating we were never felt rushed and this was a Friday night dinner. Everything just seemed to flow at a good pace. The dining area was very clean and they do have a customer restroom if needed. You can see into the kitchen from the dining room and that too was very clean and busy. Lastly if you are so inclined they do have a drink menu as well with craft beers and several wines. Not really my area so decide for yourself but they are available. Definitely recommend stopping by this place if you get the chance. I can see why they have been around so long. I am adding this edit into my review after doing a little research. Apparently this place has more inside seating than I originally posted according to a comment by the owner on another review. It is temporarily closed due to staffing shortages. Personally I would love to see you open this up but, from what I read the owner likes to hire quality people and I would agree. Again, the reason they have been...
