I've been coming to this place for many years and have always had positive experiences with the food and service. Today, I ordered a New Yorker slice and a cheese Sicilian slice which came on separate plates. I have ordered Sicilian slices there previously and they have all been great up until tonight. When they both came out, the cheese Sicilian slice looked extremely unappetizing. It looked like an unbaked, greasy, cold mozzarella blanket on top of what looked like stale dough. So I finished the New Yorker slice and left Sicilian slice untouched on it's own plate. The waitress (who was great) asked if I'd like a box and I said, "no thanks, I'd just like to swap this out for a small Greek salad and pay the difference." She checked with some staff and said, "your salad will be right out." Then after I finished the New Yorker slice, the manager came up to take the empty plate and asked if I'd like a box for the Sicilian. I told him that I was waiting for a Greek salad as a replacement so he could go ahead and take the Sicilian back. He told me that he has to charge me for that slice since I ordered it but, there was no way I would have ordered it if I had known what I was getting - I mean that thing was nasty. I said, "really? Even if I didn't touch the slice?" He said, "yup, you ordered it. I can give you a discount but I have to charge you something for it." I wouldn't have ordered the Greek salad if I had known they were going to charge me full price for that anyway.
As someone who has worked in the food service industry, the staff or manager should always work with guests to ensure they're taken care of and the food looks at least edible. If the food was never touched, the staff should remove the item from the table, and the customer shouldn't be charged - ever. I wasn't expecting a charge for the untouched Sicilian slice and I don't think the waitress was either until the manager stepped over to the register and talked to her about it before issuing the check. At the end of the day, it wasn't much money - but it was hard to fathom that I was charged for the unappetizing slice of pizza I did not eat (and that they threw away) and for the...
Read moreWe came in to discuss catering a bridal shower. My wife had so many questions but Shelby answered all her questions. She even made suggestions to improve the variety of food and set up. Shelby was so very knowledgeable and polite my wife could not stop talking about how great of an employee Brooklyn Joes has one their team. Everything went so well, we changed our plans and had lunch too. Great experience!!
Another experience August 7 Brooklyn Joe’s catered our wedding shower. All 35 invitees raved about the food especially the chicken piccata. It was so tender and the flavor was perfect! The food was delivered on time and hot. Hats off to Kati going out of her way to deliver all the food.
Brooklyn Joe's Catered OurWedding WOW! Brooklyn Joe's of Canton did it again. We had them cater the wedding for 120 people providing Chicken Picatta, Meatballs, Lasagna, Baked Ziti, Spaghetti, Salad, and handmade rolls with a garlic & oil topping. There wasn't the first complaint. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasted GREAT!. The staff, Shelby and Kristen, did a great job setting up, serving, and cleaning. They even made sure everybody was served a meal. How do you keep up with 120 folks? They were phenominal! The Chicken Picatta was the rave of all the entries and the Tiramisu was the best of the deserts. I will definitely use Brooklyn Joe's for my next event. I want to give a special thanks to the management. From the initial planning stage, execution, and cleanup your team made everything extremely simple. Y'all are Top Notch! All the leftovers were taken home by the attendees. Keep up the great work and will...
Read moreWell… I am so sad! This was our first and probably our last visit to this establishment. We thought it had to be good, because it was so crowded when we arrived. Ordered several things since we wanted to try a few things. We got medium wings that were over-cooked, dry and like jerky in some spots. Sauce was tasty but watery. We also ordered the chicken Neapolitano and the sauce, again, thin as water. Had a pretty good flavor though. The chicken under the ham and cheese was rubbery & very difficult to chew which explains why I had to have ask for a steak knife. It came with a side of spaghetti with marinara that was better than most things we ate. Also came with garlic knots that were really good. The slice of pizza … had toppings added to a slice of cheese pizza but hardly any cheese. I’m thinking if you ordered a whole pizza, it would be better, but if you can’t be really good, might not want to sell it, IMO. We also got an Italian Sub with skimpy meat. Bread was nice and fresh but someone had to physically put that raunchy tomato on there. Really?!? Anyway… too much bad to call this a good experience for us. I’m so disappointed as obviously there are a lot of people that love it. It’s close to home and I soooo wanted to really like it at least. I must say, the service was excellent and people were super friendly. Definitely not worth what we paid though. Off to the...
