I have ordered food from this restaurant twice recently and both times the food lacked flavor, lacked visual appeal, and I was missing an item of food.
My first order was through UberEats and I was able to check the food delivered against what I selected. When I called the restaurant they just kept telling me I was wrong. I was angry, but accepted that it might have been a mistake on Uber’s listing.
The next time I ordered a pick up over the phone. I repeated my order twice and the lady on the phone also read it back to me twice and reviewed the sides that were supposed to come with it. I had my phone on speaker so my partner was able to hear the whole conversation. I ordered 2 large dinners and a combination meal. The first large dinner was supposed to come with white rice (like usual), the second large dinner I had asked to get lo mein instead of white rice but it was not in my bag when I got home. When I called the restaurant they again told me i was wrong and that I never asked for lo mein. Then I asked why I only had one container of white rice and they said they put both orders of white rice in one container. If this is true (which I clearly don’t believe at this point), it seems to me that they could be losing other customers over a cost savings option for using one takeout container instead of two.
We ended up throwing the food away since it was mediocre at best (fried rice was too dry, chicken had too much sugar, and overall...
Read moreThis place was recommended to us, but I am sorry to say this was the worst "Chinese" food ever! The egg drop soup was like egg yolks and gelatin--simply gross. The quart of pork fried rice was truly flavorless and pellet-like and had mere slivers of pork. The bourbon chicken was dry, had maybe a tablespoon of sauce and 4 stalks of broccoli. The crab rangoons were cold and we ordered them on purpose to eat in the car on the way home (b/c they are not great unless piping hot)--very disappointing. The steamed dumplings were cool, but standard. The spring rolls were the best thing out of the nearly $40 spent. Oh! and the white rice was good , but I would think that white rice at a Chinese joint is hard for any place to mess up--not to mention, I could have bought 50 pounds of rice for what I spent tonight! Just to be fair and before writing this, I called the restaurant (to give benefit of the doubt) thinking maybe they had brand new cooks or fryer difficulty but the lady said no one was new, no problems. If you're thinking it was busy, it really wasn't that busy (Thursday night, 6:50 pm) and we ordered & sat and waited in the place too--remember the rangoons! Really wish it had been great b/c we love Chinese food--just...
Read moreI think people that rate this as excellent Chinese food have never actually had Chinese food or traveled outside of the state of Florida. This is less than average for American Chinese food. Portions are small which may be because I ordered on UberEats to be fair. I ordered a tofu dish, rice, vegetable spring rolls, mustard on the side. The rice was perfect and the mustard was great. The tofu would have been great if it wasn’t chopped up so small and overly sweet. It is loaded with sugar and there was only 2 pieces of broccoli in there. The spring rolls are literally the size of a man’s pinky. I mean, common. You can’t expect people to pay for that. It’s all grease and roll with no filling. I can make better Chinese food at home and buy frozen spring rolls at Wholefoods for the same price that are excellent. I’ve had Chinese food from all over the country and this is subpar compared to other places. Everyone giving this place 5 stars needs to...
