It was OK. I had the ultimate club. Flavor was OK, but I was kind of thrown by the toasted bread and cold sandwich. I looked into the prep area to realize they effectively use the same toaster set up that Subway does. I ordered the peaches n' silk smoothie. It's supposed to be a peach, strawberry, and banana smoothie... It tastes like strawberries. If it were called strawberries and silk, it'd be fine....but I couldn't find peach flavor at all. My wife had the rustic turkey and apple sandwich. Now, we were aware it had gorgonzola cheese, but wow. Gorgonzola is the prevalent flavor, and it just gave an overwhelming flavor of must. Like a foot. It was edible, but that's about it. We ordered our son a meal, and that was a task in and of itself. The menu says you can pick a kid's smoothie and a side. We picked a smoothies from the kids option, and were asked for his side. We picked whole fruit, an orange. It was after choosing the fruit that we were told whole fruit isn't an option for the kids meal. Ok.... Why ask me which piece of whole fruit I want for him, to then tell me that isn't an option after the fact? His cheese quesadilla came out after my wife and my food came, and it wasn't cooked. I'd say about 80% of the cheese was not melted. Asked for it to be remade, and got the opposite back. A quesadilla loaded with melted cheese, but a tortilla cooked to the point of being a cracker. The cashier, to be honest, almost seemed a bit annoyed to even be serving a guest, but had all the time in the world for a co-worker ordering a meal for herself.
The food was OK. That's all I can say. Nothing spectacular, nothing worth writing home about. I do feel they are a bit overpriced. A sandwich, bag of baked Lay's, and a smoothie ran $11. It's perfectly adequate food if you're hungry and they're the closest option, but I certainly wouldn't seek out a Tropical Smoothie Café if this is their best effort. The best part of all three meals was the apple and kale slaw. However, if I make that at home, I've rendered going to this establishment...
Read moreI have always loved tropical smoothie but they seem to have changed quite a bit over the many years after I discovered them outside Orlando. Since weâve moved back to this area a couple years ago we were happy to see they had 2 in the cape. They had none in 2012 when we moved away. The smoothie that used to be called the blue lagoon is called now blueberry Bliss and I always got that one. The color was very vibrant, but also plenty of fruit was put in it. Now it just lacks enough fruit or something is not there. Taste wattered downâŠ..I think itâs less fruit honestly and its more watery has no flavor! Due to that after 2 times and complainingâŠâŠ I changed to another smoothie that offers more fruit and it taste very similar now to the old blue Lagoon, which is a blueberry bliss renamed. The new flavor is a super smoothie that also has adds pomegranate and acai berry added to tge same ingredients as the bluberry bliss. It tells me fruit is definitely lacking in the other one cause it taste so much like the old blue lagoon renamed blueberry bliss.
We frequent this location fairly often, but theyâre very inconsistent with the way that they make their smoothies. Sometimes they are barely frozen and their wraps are very inconsistent. We had one of the worst wraps ever yesterday and it was so skimpy and it had a bunch of hard crunchy Parmesan in it thatâs all you could taste with like no meat no veggies just all tortilla. Literally, one end of it had nothing 1/2 of it in it This location is not real consistent with what theyâre serving and all too often. If itâs that bad I return it or ask them to replace it. We are for paying a lot of money for them to be skimping on food thatâs not made correctly. It may be theyâre not training people properly or theyâve got too many new people coming in. Nobody wants to drink a smoothie that doesnât taste like itâs got any fruit in it and they definitely donât wanna eat a tortilla sandwich...
Read moreNormally tropical smoothie is a great restaurant but I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of his particular location. I ordered my food and went to sit down and every table was full of food. I went to the bathroom to get some paper towels and clean off table myself and when I was done my white paper towel was black with filth from the tables not being cleaned ever apparently. As usual the food tasted great so I went back when I was done to order something else. This time a different person took my order and it was one of the people who had his blue gloves on from working in the kitchen. Amazingly this practice is very common in restaurants. This put up a red flag and I kept an eye on him to see if he would take his gloves off before preparing my food. He didn't take his gloves off as soon as he started touching the bread rap I asked for a refund and it was promptly. Nobody was rude but this is not acceptable so I took my money back and left and I'm not sure if this happened when I ate my first course they are or not. It's really quite amazing after all the covid obsession the left made with masks and everything that stuff like this even goes on. It is not sanitary to touch money especially coins and then go with the same gloves and start preparing somebody's food. This restaurant obviously has management issues because on top of that they had the worst Latin music I ever heard...
