Can we give Good Deals less than one star????? I am completely dissatisfied with this company and will never buy anything there again. I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator this past June 12 of 2021 in the Cape Coral Del Prado location. I also added “at an additional cost” a 5-year protection plan. This refrigerator turned out to be a real lemon and nothing but trouble from the very beginning. It broke down so many times that I wonder if it had anything in it worth “fixing”. Everything from the refrigerator side not cooling to the water dispenser serving warm water after the first glass, the icemaker was leaking and the censor was changed twice. A new control board was installed, I could not get ice cubes in the dispenser, and finally on January 5th the repair company “Gulf Coast Appliances” notified me that they have ordered a new Freezer side door from Whirlpool. They also notified me it would take between 8 to 12 weeks to install it. I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL APRIL 2022 TO HOPEFULLY HAVE A FUNCTIONING REFREGERATOR. In the meantime, every time the unit was “repaired” and I stocked it with food I would be forced to discard anything perishable like milk and meats. Keep in mind that this nightmare happened straight thru the Christmas and New Year holidays. On this past 10th of January, I personally went to Good Deals Warehouse in Cape Coral to find out how it was possible this issue was taking so long to resolve. I spoke to Mr. Henry Gonzales at the store and he stated he was going to obtain a report from Gulf Coast Appliances which he would then forward to the Regional Whirlpool Manager and try to exchange the refrigerator. Now, after all this back and forth, the pain of it was not enough, now comes the insult he wanted “ME” to call “HIM” the next Saturday which was the 15th. WHAT RECOURSE DID I HAVE? I just swallowed my anger and called that Saturday, at which time Mr. Gonzalez told me he has not received a reply from the Whirlpool Manager. He also suggested that in the meantime he can give me a loaner Monday January 17 IF HIS SUPPLY ARRIVES and once more, he told me to Call “HIM” on Monday. I am an 83 year old retired business owner. It is understood by anyone running a business that their bread and butter is the client. Without clients there would be no business. In all the years that I worked with my clients, I would never have dreamed of telling them to call ME so that I can be on top of something that should not have happened to begin with. If you value your time and money, stay away...
Read moreAfter buying a washer and dryer, diahwasher, microwave, and range previously, we decided to upgrade to an induction top range... same brand, just 5yrs newer. Usually they have the best prices around, but I found the same range online for $200 less total than what their price was quoted to me (less the taxes, as I didn't have to pay the tax ordering it online).
After talking about the online price I found to JP, our salesman, he said he could get the price to $100 over the online price I found (minus the taxes again), and assured me that buying from them would be much better than buying online if we had an issue after the sale. So we bought it from him, locally.
All is well until we use the oven for the first time and notice that the vent fan that pushed out air from between the oven tub and the cooktop is cranking out some HEAT... only when the oven is on, not the cooktop, in normal oven mode. Remember, same brand, same style oven, 5yrs newer with induction top and convection oven. It's pumping out so much heating it is heating my house up, literally, and we have a 2yr old brand new Trane AC unit. So clearly it seems like something is not right.
They have a service company come out and take a look at it, he tells me that's just the way it is.... seriously? This isn't the first oven I have had, and it's not the first one with an induction cook top that I have used. The oven is supposed to keep the heat INSIDE, not send it outside and heat up your house
My wife calls the store, they say they can't do anything about it and can't take any returns that aren't through the MFG... so now we have to work through the repair place and whoever the MFG send's out to look at it. So much for the story of taking care of us after the sale. No offer to try or test another of the same rangeneralized to see if we got a lemon, no return policy what so ever. So make sure you read the fine print on the invoice you sign... because once you sign it, they are done with you.
Next time I will buy it online. I'm not going to call the store and raise hell... it won't do any good. I work in the service industry and talk to people all day... and I'll be sure to tell my story. Hopefully some will find this review helpful in making a split decsion on where to buy like I did. I'll put a separate review up of the range itself once this all plays out. Since GDA has thrown up their hands, I'm...
Read moreCustomer service is not a key element of Good Deals business model. I wanted to utilize a local company rather than a big box store however I seriously regret it. I ordered a complete kitchen package to be delivered to my home. I asked my 72 year old mother to come from Cape Coral to receive the package first thing in the morning, I was told she was not at my house when they arrived. I spoke with her at my home on time waiting for the truck. I also have a 120 pound dog who barks at anything in front of my home let alone rings a doorbell. Well the delivery services proceeded to imply that my other was a liar and they were going to charge me a re-delivery fee and deliver on another day. Of course this was unacceptable and they finally relented and re-delivered it with a stern warning about my mother's ineptitude. When I returned home from work, I noticed a small crack in the crisper drawer. I called and explained the problem. They were very obliging to the problem and stated the part would be ordered however it would take 8 weeks. This was not a huge problem. I waited, and waited and waited. No call, no part. I called again. They apologized it was not ordered. The part guy John would order it. Well I waited again, and waited and waited. No phone call, no part. I ended up calling 4 different times. The parts person John is always not there or on vacation. He is never available and he supposedly is the only one who can order a part. I called again and spoke with the "owner" Ray. He assured me this would be taken care of an ordered. He appeared frustrated with his staff. He requested I send an email with the pic or the part that is needed. I did this for the second time. Again, no call, no part. I called yesterday to follow up, yet again. Salesperson is apologetic however cannot do anything because "John" is off yet again. He promised a phone call back. Still haven't received a call back. This purchase was made in MAY it is now December!!!!!!! If you like to save $10 and feel like you are in a seedy bar with a group of stereotypical used car salesman, then this is the place to buy appliances. For me however, I will be contacting the BBB and social media. ...
