Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Cape Girardeau

Everything was cool to be honest ...just check your food before you leave... I did not use the kiosks, I ordered with a store representative and my order still came out wrong. I ordered extra sauce and a special sauce and they did not put it on my burger my burger was dry and the bottom half of my bread was burned... The cashier was nice though..... There was also an employee's child running around the workplace although the child was cute it was very unprofessional distracting and annoying and I'm just salty because I had 2 dry ass burgers lol.... I am a steak n Shake lover and it was disappointing today being that I only get their burgers because of the sauce i ordered... For the cooks to call my order back out and still forget it was crazy... If I was in my truck I would have turned back around but unfortunately I was in my semi on the way my load and I bobtailed to that steak n shake location.. so to come back with a trailer would be insane.. I'm making this review to raise awareness to the store no matter what it is the customer wants on there Burger if they pay for it give it to them I didn't mention that the cashier told me that my burger was interesting and the people in the back we're laughing because of the Sauce I chose to put on there.... I would like to tell y'all, y'all don't have to eat it I do when you're working somewhere to serve customers you're not paid to think if you could overstand that...thank you for my dry ass burgers, not satisfied, along with customer service you should practice customer care.... p.s. never...

This is not a shot at the workers .... But to be clear this should not be called Steak n Shake . Should be called . The people who killed it. No environment whatsoever ever . People who go to Steak n Shake . Come to it not for fast food . But for a Vibe n food . That vibe being shiny black n white , CLEAN . Diner environment, from a time past . , Well lit . Warm in the winter . Cold in the summer .With the bustle of cheery waiters and waitresses weaving their way through a busy store like dancers in the cabaret to make sure your kids get their cheesy fries still hot and shake still cold . The person who brought that vibe , has been replaced . The person who cleaned that table , greeted you at the door , asked how your day was , and if the kids need some more crayons. Aswell as vibe that provided countless generations a reliable , affordable , tasty homecoming or prom feasts . Has been replaced . With a kiosk ..... With distance . With a unhappy vibe for a unhappy place. No hustle . NO Bustle . NO SHINE. Just a kiosk . Some distance . And a bunch of underpaid , Detached ready to move on next week employees . Soon the legacy of Steak n Shake in Missouri..... will be other businesses that opened in the "old ...

Used to be the best diner in Cape. Friendly staff, delicious burgers and shakes. Unfortunately now it is dirty, overcrowded, and they no longer have waiters take your order but rather use kiosks up front. Then if you're lucky you'll hear some man yell the number on your ticket from behind the counter, assuming he decides to go any higher than a whisper above all the people talking. Once went and a worker had to keep repeating numbers that a fellow worker was calling since she refused to call them louder. The "diner" experience and atmosphere is just completely gone in favor of cold electronics. Speaking of cold, let's talk food quality. Remember your middle school cafeteria? Cold, flavorless burgers with stiff buns wrapped up in paper and a handful of fries so hard that snapping one into two is a feat of its own? Something you only had to eat 'cuz that's all the state would pay for, if you could even afford lunch? Yeah, that's about it here too nowadays. Drive thru isn't much better, though at least it'll be greasy instead of dry. It's a shame, but if you're hungry it might be better than McDonalds...
