Finding good pizza (or passable bagels, for that matter) in Cape May has long been a losing battle. I ordered takeout from Mario's last night, and won't be doing so again.

This restaurant needs better quality control. Upon returning home, I discovered our chicken Caesar salad lacked any dressing.

As for the pizza, our "the works" was obviously a cheese pie with ingredients added on after the fact. Pale red pepperonis and still-crunchy bell peppers were a particularly frustrating sight and required the whole pie to go under the broiler for several minutes, at which point the cheese and crust were pushed into the well-done range. Ordering takeout shouldn't necessitate playing chef again once you get home.

Summer crowds can be stressful, and it's a pandemic, but the top pizza place in any town should be able...

This was a terrible experience. My family came here and ordered a cheese steak and two pizzas. The steak came out promptly, but then the wait for the pizzas was on. After 25 minutes, I asked about the pizzas and was told apologetically the pizza maker left and it would be 15 more minutes. After those minutes we asked again and were told they were just going into the oven and it would be seven more minutes. Needless to say, it was more than another seven. All during this time many pizzas left the restaurant for takeout. We were told by the owner that there are two different systems for eat in and takeout. All told it was an hour before we got our pizza. Not sure how a business can...

The food was exceptionally good. Or the ingredients of the pizza were. But the crust was like a cracker and I have had gluten free pizza at 5 places I like that it was "gluten free" . But it was not really. True Gluten free for Celiacs has pizza or whatever in a dedicated oven. It was not. The pizza itself was Gluten free. But it was made with Glutinous pizza. My husband is Celiac and broke out. Because it was not made in a dedicated pizza oven. The parking was not free like they advertised. It was 8.00 and there was no bathroom. You had to go across the parking lot not close. But it was close to the ferry. For some reason I am not able to...

Visiting Cape May for a week and struggling to find good pizza. Walked past Mario's on our way to the Acme and decided to give it a try. Just average food. I ordered the plain cheese pizza. The crust was good, the tomato sauce had little to no flavor and the cheese was just melted not toasted or browned. Pizza is average. My partner ordered the Spaghetti Marinara, again just average. The pasta was a mix of spaghetti and linguine, like the leftover pasta. The sauce had little flavor, and the bread and salad were just ok. Overall, just average Italian food.

i was in cape may for the day with family and we wanted an affordable italian option for dinner and mario's was a very pleasant surprise! i got the light summer pasta dish which was delicious and the staff kindly accommodated my dietary restriction and made sure it came with no cheese. the salad and bread the dish came with were also great- the bread especially! the rest of my family enjoyed their meals greatly too. would definitely visit again when i'm in the area!
