I’ll give an extra star for the location/view but do not come with young kids. We were there last week and it was a miserable experience. Our group had a 3yr old, 4yr old and 3 infants (I know I know, it’s hard enough as it is) but we were told no strollers allowed inside. I should’ve known it was code for not kid friendly but we went with it. They set up ikea high chairs for the babies (aka not ones you can set you car seat carrier on) and then squeezed the 2 older kids in a space not even big enough for a place setting. We were in all fairness not a quiet group, but the kids and babies all behaved. Even still, the hostess came over to let us know “her boss” wants the kids to be quieter. The food was average, but was pretty spendy for sitting on cheap plastic patio chairs. Kids menu items were $20/each! No diaper station in the restroom, had to take my baby and change his diaper on the bench outside. I certainly won’t be back next time...
Read moreOnly place we’ve ever walked out of without touching our food. Our server didn’t show up for a long time and never managed to deliver our water, even after the food had arrived.
I also made a very clear, specific request to keep the whipped cream off my son’s waffle. Of course, it showed up with a sad-looking pile of whipped cream on top. We sent it back, politely. It returned 60 seconds later with the cream scraped off and the waffle flipped over.
Don’t go near this place if you have food allergies…or if you’re a fan of good food and service. See photo of one of their “famous” omelettes with side of home fries and fruit.
I know it’s a tough time for restaurants, but this place was particularly bad. Don’t let the waterfront location suck you in; there are much better options in the area. We went up the block and had delicious breakfast sandwiches and smoothies with...
Read moreAs a favorite place for literally decades, I very much regret that our last visit a couple of weeks ago was a major disappointment. McGlade's is obviously under new management. Their once delicious omelettes which were huge and overloaded with fillings are now very chintzy and very poorly done. I couldn't believe my eyes when my order was brought to the table. It was the thinnest, skimpiest omelette I've ever seen. It actually looked as if they barely used one egg for the darn thing. My mother in law had the same experience a couple of weeks before my latest experience, so I'm afraid this wasn't a fluke, but the way they're doing things now. I sincerely hope the owners see this review and go back to the way things were before. Despite the great location, we'll have to stop going if the food is this bad, and that is a...
