John Quincey's Original Lobster Rolls isn't your white tablecloth kind of seafood joint. It's a hidden gem tucked right on the beach, with a walk-up counter and a cluster of picnic tables for seating. Don't be fooled by the casual digs – this place serves up lobster rolls that are nothing short of legendary.
The first thing that grabs you is the scent of salty air intertwining with the warm, buttery aroma of lobster. As you wait for your order, the rhythmic crash of waves serves as a constant reminder of the beautiful ocean mere steps away. The picnic tables, a riot of colors, are spread out under large umbrellas, offering shade and the perfect spot to take in the breathtaking ocean views.
Now, let's talk about the main event: the lobster roll. They pile incredibly fresh lobster meat high onto a toasted, buttered roll. It's generosity personified – overflowing goodness in every bite. Each mouthful is a burst of sweet, succulent lobster bathed in a decadent, clarified butter that enhances the natural sweetness of the seafood perfectly.
The roll itself is toasted to a golden perfection, providing a satisfying textural contrast to the tender lobster. The quality of the ingredients is undeniable, and the care they put into crafting each roll shines through.
John Quincey's Original Lobster Rolls is the epitome of a relaxed, beachy lunch experience. You get delicious, overflowing portions of fresh seafood, stunning ocean views, and the calming sound of the waves – all at a price that won't break the bank. It's the perfect spot to unwind, savor the taste of the ocean, and indulge in a truly incredible...
Read more5 stars for TASTE, but 4 starts for overall experience. We order 1 regular traditional roll. If I remember correctly $15, and we payed extra $5 for 50% more extra meat on 1 jumbo lobster roll. Unfortunately the comparison between both of them wasn't 50% more. It truly looked like just 3-4 extra little pieces difference. I would recommend not to water your money on the "jumbo". I am unable to share a photo since I don't have the app. The taste, freshness, and quality of lobster are phenomenal. But the portion not as great. 20 mins into wildwood there is a place that gives double the portion for $18.95 ...we also tried the Lobster bisque, tasty and smooth with real lobster meat inside, but too salty for my taste. And I def don't mind a little salt kick in my food, just not too much. ...we absolutely did love the blueberry soda. Very sweet, but we shard it between 2 people. It was a unique and pleasant taste. The staff was friendly, and the location of the restaurant is fantastic. Specially for families with children. Just a few steps away is the beach, the convention center, a comfort clean bathrooms fir public usr, and other restaurant options, plus an arcade. As well as a traditional Cape May quaint little town for shopping and sightseeing ghost tours, etc. Overall, we had...
Read moreGreat summer "fast food" at the shore. The basic, original lobster roll is a buttered, toasted roll with lots of succulent lobster meat - delish!! There are other varieties, but I'd start with the original if it's your first time. Quincy's in Cape May is right along Beach Ave. (main street along the beach) in part of the facade of an old movie theater. There is no seating inside, just a counter where you order, but there are tables/chairs outside in a patio like area. You have to watch the seagulls - they occasionally nab some lobster! - but Quincy's is great about replacing your food if it does get taken :) My only complaint is the price for a very tiny side of cole slaw - $1.49. It's only about 4 bites. Otherwise, nice and unique shore fare you should find room in your dining schedule for when you're...
