First off my omelet was very good but that is all I have good to say. We come to Carlsbad every year and always like Swami's food but we will not go back. I asked the server (a 40ish man) could I get a smaller omelet and he said of course. I also didn't want potatoes or fruit and he also said that was doable. My plate came and like I said earlier the food was nice. I had a 2 egg omelet and 1 piece of toast. When I got the bill I was charged full price for my meal and it was $13.99. That seems to be an awful lot for 2 egg omelet and one piece of toast. My husband got a full plate and it was a good meal. We get the bill and it was $37.00 ridiculous so with a tip breakfast was $42.00. On top of it all the server called me Sweetie--really! This was Thursday January 24th around 10 a.m. We didn't complain but as we were walking out I saw a plate where it was obvious the gentleman ordered the same thing I did and his plate was overflowing with food, potatoes looked amazing but I don't eat carbs so I ordered without. Last year when we came to Carlsbad we ate here almost every morning we decided we would be one and done this year. I felt totally taken advantage of. It seems reasonable that when a customer asks for a smaller plate and you agree to that then you would be...

Read moreWe stopped into Swami’s in Carlsbad for brunch and had such a great experience! For food, we ordered the Chicken Teriyaki so good, tender, and flavorful. I also got the Buffalo Burger, but swapped the bacon for an extra egg, which was a perfect choice. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. On the drinks side, I tried the iced matcha latte with 2% milk light, refreshing, and just right. I also had a double dirty chai (hot), which was absolutely amazing, my boyfriend even said it tasted like it was made just for me. The bitter but had a slight sweetness to it, exactly how I like it. We sat outdoors since the weather here is so much nicer than back home in AZ and humid TX absolutely perfect for enjoying brunch. Service was quick and friendly, and our server even shared that the restaurant is named after a nearby meditation center, which was such a cool tidbit.
The location is great too on a quiet street, just a short walk from the beach and the village center. Relaxed vibe, great food, and friendly service. Definitely a spot we’ll be...
