I gave this a 1 star due to the service at the door and our waiter. The lady at the door was selective with who she let into the restaurant to be seated. Needless to say she by passed several people including my husband and I. We sat outside and our waiter took 35 minutes to bring our drinks. After being disgusted and my husband exchanging words with the girl at the door about her being selective with seating we decided we wanted to leave. My husband asked for our waiter with the lady at the door. The waiter never came. 15 minutes later he went inside to tell her to please bring us the bill, she never came. My husband then asked again the lady at the door for our waiter as wen wanted to leave. She never came. We asked another waiter to please get us our bill. After another 15 minutes later the waiter that was not our waiter said he had to bring us our bill because our waiter told him she was not coming outside of the restaurant to attend to our bill. Total time 45 minutes to pay for 2 drinks that cost 16.00. Disgusted with their service. On another note it appeared that the live entertainment was really good. Great selection of songs. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the food was hot when we got it, tasted ok, the drinks were ok and the place was one of few restaurants on the street that stayed open past 9pm. Now… our waiter was terrible. He had to be new or a busboy subbing for a waiter. He didn’t introduce himself, we saw him maybe 6 times over our 2.5 hour visit, he got the drink orders wrong (and we intentionally made it simple for him because we could tell he was uncomfortable). Then he forgot to put in one of orders completely and had to submit it after everyone else got their food, without even letting us know! We had to flag him down to figure out why one of us was sitting there without a plate while everyone else was eating. And when we asked for water, he told us the water filter was broken so the water was undrinkable. We ended up getting some canned sprites that were flat. The night was just a mess.

If you’re coming to this restaurant, try to get there early. We had to sit outside because it was so packed and the karaoke was torturous to listen too. At least inside you can dance around laugh at the dramatics of...

Don’t go there!! Horrible experience, the waiter didn’t know how to explain a mofongo plate and he said that was with “Al ajillo”. When I saw my plate the mofongo did have few churrasco at the top and it looked like they boiled it. Churrasco it has to be done in a grill, then the mofongo itself was covered in a thick garlic sauce and had a strong flavor, “al ajillo” is one thing and a “garlic sauce bath” is another thing. The waiter never stayed or asked me about the plate and he fled from our table because a singer in a stage was calling him every second. My wife’s plate was mofongo de pollo but the flavor was like fish. I didn’t want the plate and I didn’t eat it but Mario (waitress) didn’t look for options and he told me that I had to pay it. If you want a humble but great experience visit Platos Restaurant is just like a 2 mins walk from this horrible place and is cheaper but they cook a plate like is supposed to be.
