Let's talk about ESJ Towers HOA, the residential part of the hotel.
Ok, let me see where I start. When I write my review, I do it based on my experience, not on the reviews I see on the place. In my case, the room I got was booked through Airbnb. An elegant, minimalist, manly touch. Super beautiful, with attention to detail and clean. It's worthy of a 5-star hotel room; but...
Although the owner of Airbnb is not to blame for what happens in the building, I noticed that there are several people who have Airbnb in this building. I think they should pressure the management to keep the hotel in optimal conditions.
Let's start with the parking lot, the first thing you see when you enter. The parking lot is deteriorated, with pieces of cement falling from the ceiling. Even intelligently, the owner of the Airbnb where I stayed had to build a roof to avoid damage to the vehicles in the parking lot assigned to him. The lobby, at this point it seems that the hotel is not focused on the hotel guests but on the residents. I saw many people lost looking for where to check in when the office is actually hidden on a corner.
I think they should have the hotel reception and the residential part on the same table. In the end, I'm sure the service to residents is null. There is only one person in the main lobby that is for residents, and most of the time, he is not in his place.
The hallway to the rooms looks old, with a smell of dust that envelops you the moment you enter the main hallway.
Nothing works properly. The sensor for the beach keys is damaged, forcing them to have a guard sitting all day to see who enters and leaves to the beach and asking if you are staying there. Something that bothered me since a guard asked me with attitude if I was staying there, when everyone else knew me and saw me going in and out for at least a week. We should not go through that.
The gym is a pity. It is in the parking lot hidden in a corner, with several cardio machines, and a cable machine that also does not work at all. I think that instead of having an Arcade that also does not work, and a room that seems to be for reading, they should move the gym there and invest in machines that are worth it. They need to have a functioning gym because the one they have doesn't work.
There's no bench, no water, no bathrooms, nothing.
Now let's talk about the pool, there isn't... The pool has apparently been under construction for over a year. It doesn't exist, don't expect it.
The bar is also closed.
They try to make it look elegant and functional, but it doesn't work at all. Nothing is nice. They need someone who knows what they're doing, who cares, who does something, because right now it's just embarrassing.
The only thing that is work, running and actually good is the cafè. Those breakfasts are good fr.

Read moreAbandoned “hotel”! This hotel appeared to be without any maintenance, with false advertising and poor staffing. When my husband and I made the reservation on booking they advertised many amenities and photos of a pool. When we arrived for check-in at 3 pm we were surprised that our room was not clean, and in fact a filthy mess. we were in the hallway with our bags waiting for the cleaning crew to be finished almost 1 hour later after check-in! We then walked in the room and found to our surprise looking down the balcony the pool which was empty, abandoned, and very dirty around as well as the apartments below ours. Additionally the game room near the lobby was a disgrace, all the games were down and out of order. The games that still functioned like the pool table and Pingpong table were worn out, destroyed, and being supported by pieces of wood at the base. The bar that was in the ad of the hotel was said to have live music, which we never saw open during the 7 days of our stay. We also attempted to use the laundry and had to wait approximately 1 hour 30 minutes because another guest had to finish theirs. They only had 2 laundry machines functional out of 16 that were there, so we couldn’t use the others. The rest of the machines were covered with “out of order” signs. When we called the room owner to talk about our dissatisfaction she just apologized! I want to make it clear we are displeased and dissatisfied after our stay. We regret staying and filled with sadness that we selected this place for our only vacation! The hotel amenities and services were falsely provided! It’s a meager excuse to avoid proper responsibility and accountability for the poorly managed establishment. I am not pleased nor satisfied with what they think was provided. Quite frankly it’s extremely shameful and humiliating! They should feel remorseful and ridiculous to advertise such false services
DEFINITELY DO NOT CHOOSE THIS...
Read moreI'll start with the building: poorly maintained, with only one elevator working for two days without any apparent reason. You won't have the pool shown in the photos, and you won't have it anytime soon; I clearly heard someone who seems to be the manager say that they "will try to have it ready by May 2025." The bar simply doesn't work. The café: 3 coffees for $12, 1 Americano with an extra shot of espresso for $8. I thought I was at SBK The gym: at least 5 machines out of service. People walk through the hallways at 4.AM shouting without respecting others' sleep. I never knew if the neighbors upstairs were elephants... they made excessive noise with their feet, moving furniture, etc.The door to the beach: you'll depend on a doorman because your electronic keys won't work. The staff: attentive, helpful. The room 1562 :overall recommended: could easily be 5 stars—excellent view, comfortable, very clean bed linens and towels, excellent communication with the property manager (just a note, in any hotel around the world, guests are usually offered up to 2 hours post-checkout time; you didn't do this for me, using the excuse that the cleaning company was coming, which I assume would be with the punctuality typical of the locals...). With a little help from someone with a bit of good taste, the room could have a 5 stars beautiful ambiance. The price is reasonable; it's hard to find something cheaper in San Juan, especially with the comfort and security offered.I think the city...
